Summer-Tastes (watermelon & shaved ice)

*Two types of Summer Tastes*

First One (Watermelon)

Let me show you ”LATE” Two-Types of Summer Tastes I enjoyed recently. It sure is hot now here in Japan. Hope you are not having really hot weather like here where I live.  I found cute illustration of watermelon, please let me use pictures including shaved-ice p;-)

Second One (Shaved Ice)

Pictures from the Store called "Komeda-shaved-ice-store."
As my husband had a little trouble for his stomach, we couldn't go there to have tasty one of these pictures below recently. I hope you all also can enjoy one of these shaved-ice in your country as well p-;)   Please let me show you some pictures of tasty shaved-ice from the PC's page of the store.  The Japanese letter "氷" means "ice".
So sorry that I have been busy as we had Obon-season when we enjoy family times visiting each other's house or grave-yard.
Wishing you all are not having uncomfortable hot weather;
 it's really hot summer-season here now p;)

Air-conditioner to my Hushusband's Workplace;

                   *New Air-conditioner to my husband's workplace*
He finally decided to buy air-conditioner to his working place. Considering our age, it could be a necessary item. I was really surprised at the size of bellows duct and the big hole for the door p;-)  I felt really thankful for the staff of his hard work under the unbearable hot weather.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I always appreciate your sweet comments.
In Japan, until today Obon season. I also had guests of husband's brother's family.
I wonder when masks won't be the necessary thing.....

Jazz Concert and Nature;

* Jazz concert  at Jazz Cafe *
The Saxophone player whom I introduced sometime in my blog sent me a mail about this concert through sns called 'line'.  I was amazed at their sessions with these three instruments. The Saxophone player uses two types of them depending on the music.
I was lucky that the seat next to the piano player was empty so that I could take an interesting video I've never expected. I just felt a bit sad that I missed the impressive melody line which we call 'sabi' in Japanese.

Bull-headed shrike *
Recently, I couldn't find birds. These are the ones I took before and haven't posted.

I spent busy Obon Season (my old posts) having guests, visiting family graveyard and so on. Wishing you are doing fine under extreme weather. Thank you very much for stopping by. I always appreciate your sweet comments;

Aunt's Sewing Machine etc;

Orchid's Daily Voice (Home Page)

Altered Size of the shirt by my Aunt
My husband was gifted "Aloha Shirt" by one of the members of the band group he belongs to. Wow, L-size of the shirt perplexed me as 'both of us' are really small. He knew my clumsiness with "Handwork " and who to ask for  alteration. I saw "pedal sewing machine" after a long while. My aunt has been working as a dressmaker. I remember my late mother also was using one and eagerly waiting to see what I would have later a lot more than half a century ago p;-) I really am Thankful to my aunt ♫♫♫

*My aunt's sewing machine and Overlock  Sewing machine*
 As a professional, she said electric one is not good for the detail work.
My husband was really happy for his first
Aloha Shirt.
Below is my 20 year old machine (second one).
Both machines hasn't been used much; making me irritating not going smoothly -;)
I think it was close to 60 years ago.  I was looking into my mother's machine.
And left one is I found pedal one from 1950's in the PC's picture page.

We call sawing machine " ミシンmishin" in Japanese. And "perforation" is called
"ミシン目 michin-me . michin-eye".  The tear-off line like below is also called "michin-me".   Don't you think the shapes are the same :-)

Bird and flower
Female Redstart I found this Feb. in front of my house.
Recently, I cannot find any birds around my area, except a couple of herons in the river. We have had temp. almost close to 40. Never experienced this excessive heat.  This lovely redstart makes me feel tiny bit cooler :-)
 This Double-daffodil (not posted) was gifted this spring by lady keyboard player♪
Love this gorgeous flower.  I don't think I have seen with my own eyes;-)
Thank you very much for stopping by;
Sorry for the longer than the usual long post.  Finally  Obon- season was over.
Wish to have the normal pace back.

See You Soon♪

First of all, So sorry for my absence to you all.
After I posted the previous blog, I became a little below par.  And now this week, we are having Obon season (link to my old blog explaining Obon in Japan)  which is family gathering time.  It is an annual Buddhist event for commemorating our ancestors, as their spirits believed to return this world in order to visit their relatives. Visiting family grave and so on.  I also am having relatives sharing this family gathering time.
I'll try visiting you before my next post. Thank you SO much for your sweet visits.
See You Soon; and Wishing you will be fine with kind of under extreme weather.
      Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan;

Agapanthus from our back yard
   These Agapanthus were blooming late June♪
Happy that finally found matching place to post this flower.

Oriental  Green Finch and workers
On 2nd. this month, under hot weather, I found many finches flying
back and forth around the fences, electric wires and into the rice paddy.
Seeing me approaching them from even a bit far, they flew away...

Obon (お盆) season is coming in Japan;
Obon  (actual date is from 13th to 15th) is an annual Buddhist event for commemorating
our ancestors, as their spirits believed to return this world.
