Fence with unusual material;

 (posted; Japanese culture page)
*Can you guess for what these bottles (earthen ware) were used*

These were used as sulfuric acid bottle (container).
And the fence itself is called Bottle fence "瓶垣, bin-gaki" in Japanese.
It was funny that until recently I never knew next city where is my husband's birth city used to have thriving ceramic engineering  (pottery industry).  "sulfuric acid, to refine gold and silver" for coins.

This Miyoshi residentce is designated as Heritage of Industrial Modernization.
The board explains this fence 'made from almost 100 years old bottle with this pottery' represent its history of the industry in this city. And the pictures below shows the very old kiln no longer used.

The entrance and fence of the residence after go up along the bottle fence.

      The monument of the bottle located where we cross this bridge.
           And some are ornaments along side the road.

Film Camera;

For Rubbish Tuesday, I'd like to post some old film cameras owned by my late father and my husband. They were too complicated for me to use :-)
And hope this post fits the idea of this meme.
m
 *my father's two old film cameras*
       MAMIYA with Olympus lens and accordion type
                                                                                    (sorry if it's the wrong word)
       Minolta; newer one for him
I know you've seen these pictures but my favorites :-)

*my husband's old PENTAX camera*

Some of my friends may reminisce using these types of camera.
For me, too costly to use film camera. I really AM thankful for digital one we can erase unneeded pictures freely later. As camera is an inevitable item for me now

Dragonfly and Rubbish

While fiddling with pc looking for the place to see dragonfly, I found this place. As you can see, lots of green around the rice paddy and good environment for dragonfly♪
Catch Phrase of this place is "Starting Station of  Rice Paddy and Dragonflies"

"Satoyama biotoup Futamatase"
*Entrance with the Wooden Gate*
Rhyothemis fuliginosa; we call 'cho-tonbo 蝶トンボ, butterfly dragonfly'.
Funny name but their wings are rather wide :-)
Golden-ringed dragonfly
Sympetrum uniforme
Common skimmer
We have different names "male→shiokara-tonbo female→mugiwara-tonbo"
C.atrata  We call 'haguro tonbo 羽黒トンボ, black winged dragonfly'

scarecrow (you have really new dress, don't you♪)

I wish these old waterwheel and bridge fit for Rubbish Tuesday.

Unknown flower I found there.

Old Threshing Machine and Egrets;

I'm linking this post to Rubish Tuesday and "Wild Bird Wednesday

*Old Threshing Machine*
When we visited "Sea of Flowers" to see sunflowers, we found this old threshing machine at outside of the exit of the store. It caught my husband's eyes. I personally have never seen this machine but he remembers using the handle to put air when young. Sort of happy that I found an old thing to show, which has Japanese atmosphere.

He seemed so reminiscent looking into the machine for a while.

*Two Different Egrets*
This healthy looking one I found in the uncultivated rice paddy is a bit chunky and has really flexible body grooming. And it was a fine day.

I found this one in the river we usually pass on my way home from shopping. This poor birdie looked so skinny and the bad weather making him looked more unhealthy.

Thank you very much for stopping by;

ps> My bad sleeping habit keeping me from fall a sleep now. I promise I can concentrate visiting you all in the morning. I was SO tied up for several things lately.  See you in the morning, friends.

Nature is wonder;

      *My neighbor's pomegranate tree and fruits*
To tell the truth, I've never had its fruits :-)  My first wonder today, I think I should try how it's tastes. I thought they are not ripened well as they haven't opened yet.

      *The different color of the beak*
The Egret's beak I posted here had black part and this one I found the other day didn't. This page showed the detail about the Egrets (sorry about the Japanese page). Oh, it seems really complicated p;)  I must read again later as the Egrets is the main bird I can take pictures.  I guess the net is for the purpose of protecting the stones from fallen off. And I presume the mound is far better than the concert one. (sorry for the bad pictures)

       *Alongside of the big road*
Actually this old house still sits alongside of the big road for many decades. Trees are helping it from collapsing. I wonder who was the owner and why no one have bought the convenient place.
