Butterfly from two places;

 *Chestnut Tiger Butterfly; "asagimadara,アサギマダラ"*

This particular butterfly travels through the Japanese archipelago from north to south. Spending summer cool northern part of Japan and south to even warmer "Okinawa".

*On 10th this month* same next city's hillside of the mountain （my another butterfly post here）, where the flower they love "Boneset; hiyodoribana,ヒヨドリバナ " is cultivated. 

 *On12th* at our city park. Thoroughwort  'fujibakama;フジバカマ' was blooming. I've noticed the similarities of both flowers.

ps；　I thought these two flowers are really similar and a certain Japanese page explains they are congeneric species.  Here is the English Wikipedia page.  And I must add that these pictures are actually taken different day :-)  Hope you can see that tone of color of the butterfly and flower are slightly different.

Two kinds of Butterflies with Boneset flower;

At the end of last month on our way home from errand, I stopped by next city's mountain side where we can enjoy leisure facilities and so on. I knew Boneset  flowers were blooming (hiyodori-bana in Japanese). Its name originated from Brown-eared Bulbul (hiyodori) starting to sing around the same time of Boneset's blooming season. 

*Cyrestis thyodamas (ishigake-chou)*
I was really amazed with this my first finding of  beautiful white butterfly. I'm not sure if this kind is rare or  not, have you ever seen?

*Polygonia c-aureum*

*Clerodendrum trichotomum*

While I was walking down, I found this flower. There was a sign which explains that the season is summer and there was a picture with beautiful black butterfly landing with this flower. Well, next summer:-)  And also said that this plant's leaves and stems have strong smell if you tear them. Lucky that these two were waiting for me :-)

Cosmos Fair;

On 9th, we went to the "Cosmos Fair" with my friend held at the park in the town about 1.5 hour away from home. Today I wish you to just enjoy some of the pictures I took. It was my first visit there and I was surprised with the huge space :-)

*Cosmos Area*

＊Mexican fireweed＊　This plant is called "houki-gusa; broom weed" in Japanese.
As you can guess, one theory of the name's origin is used to be used as broom.　

*Butterfly Area*
Along the walk way to the cosmos area, there was a small section where we could see butterflies. Not may of them we could enjoy (may be a bit late). But these three girls (let me say so, haha) made my day as well.

Male Butterfly in the House and Herons;

In the evening of on 22nd my husband spotted Male Indian Fritillary, before going weekly practice of his band. Wow, what a COINCIDENT male version as well.  Here is the female version of my post. He rushed to fetch the net and handed him to me. He went out telling me "make sure that after taking some pictures, release him". 

       I think he is not in vigorous condition as he even perched on my finger etc.

At first,　he flew to the curtain. Too bright...

His button like eyes amazed me.

I really appreciate his short visit to my house and my husband's help♪

*First Blue Heron and Egrets*

I was thinking there would be only Egret around my area and would never be able to see Blue Heron. Lucky that I could spot this handsome fellow♪

Might be a family was enjoying lunch;
I love seeing their long neck, beak and flexibility :-)

Butterfly first kind for me;

＊Female Indian Fritillary (tumaguro-hyo-mon;ツマグロヒョウモン）＊
When I visited Xavier Memorial Church (former post), I spotted a beautiful yellow butterfly I've never seen. My husband seeing my pictures in the car before leaving the church (due to his handicap with his legs, he mostly waits me in the car), he also got SO amazed with my finding, what a luck♪  So sorry for many pictures of the same butterfly. I got really excited and happy to show you :-)
She was SO busy having lunch (sucking up nectar) flower to flower and didn't even mind me having been a bit close by. 

           Part of its name 'hyo-mon' means 'Leopard Spot' in Japanese.

This butterfly was enjoying lunch at the flower garden made in front of the church entrance.

I should have taken the picture of the garden to give you the better idea(^^;)  Never have I expect to have the big luck♡♡♡

Butterfly and Flower;

  First of all, thank you SO much for your thoughtful comments for my previous post.

         Your heartfelt thoughts must have worked, a bit early come back p;) 

Waking up so early this morning, I started fiddling with the pictures I took last Sunday. 

I found a tiny butterfly in my garden and perched on our small tree. My husband said he forgot the name of the tree.

These are next neighbor's flowers. Clematis and the last one name unknown again :)

Camellia Festival (part 3) & Mimosa Tree

*Picture-Story Show* 

           I had a kind of happy coincidence at the Camellia Festival.
Chestnut Tiger Butterfly　"アサギマダラ, asagimadara", which I posted about (here) last October was introduced as a picture-story show at one corner of the festival.

This butterfly comes to the next city's hillside of the mountain,

where the flower they love is cultivated.

He is the guy telling the story how this particular butterfly travel through Japanese archipelago and also about the flower "Hemp Agrimony; hiyodoribana，ヒヨドリバナ" they love.  

So lovely to hear his storytelling about which I actually went to take pictures. Really was nostalgic remembering I was looking forward to the Picture-Story Show bus from city library almost half a century ago p;)

It is wonderful to have direct human to human contact this way, 

even in this advanced day and age.  

* Mimosa Tree (Wattle, Mimosa acacia)*

In the little park near my house, there is a fairly big Mimosa tree along with some smaller ones. Really happy that we can feel spring here at last.
