Cosmos Fair;

On 9th, we went to the "Cosmos Fair" with my friend held at the park in the town about 1.5 hour away from home. Today I wish you to just enjoy some of the pictures I took. It was my first visit there and I was surprised with the huge space :-)

*Cosmos Area*

*Mexican fireweed* This plant is called "houki-gusa; broom weed" in Japanese.
As you can guess, one theory of the name's origin is used to be used as broom.

*Butterfly Area*
Along the walk way to the cosmos area, there was a small section where we could see butterflies. Not may of them we could enjoy (may be a bit late). But these three girls (let me say so, haha) made my day as well.

  7. I would love to see such a field of cosmos!! They are such pretty flowers - and so easy. I have them in my garden, they came up from seeds that "volunteered" here two years ago, and since then they are a reliable presence here. They don't need any care, nor water and readily re-seed.

    The butterflies are lovely, I'm looking forward to summer and the flowers and butterflies. It is very squally here today but not too cold, a short blast from departing winter.

  13. Miyako these photos are exquisite! I wondered when I saw the title of your post if these would be the cosmos we know -- and they are -- but I have never seen so many at once. How absolutely beautiful.

    But the butterfly on flower pictures are the ones that have me in utter awe. Absolutely incredible pictures and you know their names. Just wonderful; I can't say enough good things about these pictures.

    I know the Memorial Service for your dear Father will be hard, but I know it will be perfect because you are doing it!
