* Lunar Eclipse for Skywatch Friday*
Last night, I observed "Lunar Eclipse" for the first time in my life(^^;) and surprised to know that we still can see the orange moon even after the earth hide the moon, wow♪
My husband was watching and engaged in seeing the eclipse with binocular, I was so sad that I had only one picture of decent total eclipsed orange moon. It was so hard to focus!
This is the English explanation page about the reason why moon get reddish. Oh, complicated phenomenon with atmosphere and color refraction; not good at science p;)
*Store of the Steamed Cake for Good Fences*
Store of our favorite sweet called "外郎, uiro"; One of the steamed cake.
This store has two entrances and can be seen as fence... (I hope) |
Show windows of the sweets are on the right side. |
This picture is from the home page of the store. Very soft and delicious♪ |
Thank you
very much for stopping by;
i love the 'zen garden' area inside the store! really neat place. and your moon shots are wonderfully taken and displayed! very impressive!
ReplyDeleteMiyako, great pictures of the lunar eclipse. We had some cloud cover this morning, but I still could see just a sliver of the moon between the clouds. Interesting place and dish to eat!
ReplyDeleteMiyako, you are doing much better than I! I have not yet been able to get any photos of the moon. Your photos are lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteDearest Miyako,
ReplyDeleteLOVE your moon photos; excellent job.
And I had to laugh when you showed the final photo of the steamed cake; you put me back to Indonesia. We ate such sweets a lot; I mean a LOT! Indonesians love sweets but they do use a lot of the gula jawa / gula melaka in English is palm sugar / made from sap of creamy yellow coconut flowers.
Guess in a way it still has a low Glycemic Index and is thus healthier.
Fond memories... Thanks for handing them to me!
Hugs,
Mariette
Wow, Miyako, those are wonderful shots of the lunar eclipse. We stayed up watching until midnight (N.Z. time) and it was almost a full eclipse then, but decided we couldn't stay up any later because we had to be up early in the morning. Thanks for sharing these snaps.
ReplyDeletelove from New Zealand,
Diana

i'm happy that you finally got to witness your first lunar eclipse. the place where they sell the goodie is simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe garden inside the store is lovely; I admire the patience and care needed for this kind of gardening. (There is a beautiful Japanese Garden in Portland Oregon (not as beautiful as the ones in your country I'm sure, but beautiful for here). It is one of the most serene and peaceful places I've ever been.
ReplyDeleteAnd your moon pictures are wonderful!!! I'm so glad you posted them ... I missed it -- the eclipse was in the middle of the night here in Pacific Northwest time (or very very early in the morning would be a better way to say it). Thank you for sharing. Your picture is better than the one published in our newspaper !!
Very nice photos. I love each one of them. It' so nice that you finally got to see an eclipse.
ReplyDeleteI love your images of the eclipse!!! I wish I had been able to see it in person, but your photos are a good substitute!
