Wedding veils♪

Hello, friends ;  Thank you very much for your concern about my health.
My physical condition got ups and downs but I'm finally sure that only symptom I have left is runny nose p;)

In my post of "Two Brides", I pasted the link of "白無垢;shiromuku” to show the Japanese white wedding Kimono.  And made me think the meaning of head cover type veil (tunokakushi. wataboushi) Japanese brides wear. And also the difference with them and the veil in the western country. I wish to use the pictures (Japanese version) which I think is ok to use from the advertisement sites.

I learned a lot from this site "rosie wedding" and this site "Wedding Veil Why?";
According to the first site, I found 2 meanings of uncover the veil in western wedding; which is really fascinating for me who is unfamiliar with the custom.
First one;  There was a popular belief that when a bridegroom uncovers the bridal veil, he takes her under his protection and since that very moment a girl becomes a married woman.
Second one;  A husband-to-be was allowed to see the face of the wife-to-be only after the wedding event was held, and the face of the bride was covered under the long opaque veil from the bridegroom to avoid refusal from wedding if he accidentally sees the face of a bride.

*Here is the meanings of 2 Japanese veils from the second site.

I had tunokakushi (literally;  horn-concealinghair style, not knowing the meaning.

Wataboushi literally means "cotton hat" in Japanese.
I was happy to learn the idiom remembering the fascination I had when I watched the movie "The Nun's Story" by Audrey Hepburn.

So sorry for the long post today. It seemed as if rekindle the feeling of youth p;)

Two Brides♡♡♡

I'd like to introduce two Japanese brides who approved me to post in my blog♡♡♡
Although we didn't attend the ceremonies, I'm really happy to be able to have a chance to share pictures of two lovely Japanese brides with my friends.
Nowadays not all the brides, but almost all the brides used to wear white kimono called "白無垢;shiromuku”.  You'll also love to see the link of the picture page.

*My cousin's daughter*
She married this 15th. I went to see the pictures to my cousin's house and enjoyed chatting with my two cousins. They also prepared birthday surprise for me. I had a great time with my two cousins♡♡

The candy rings with rose design on top of the cake was made by the sister of the bride.
Maybe, my friends remember my post here about her efforts for her big sister(*^_^*)   They are pointing the rings; really sweet scene

*My husband's lady ex-colleague*
Last month, she came to our house to pick up the wedding present my husband prepared for her and had soba lunch he made. She gave me the pictures of fitting session. As you can see, she chose the Japanese-inspired dress  She happened to get married 15th of this month. Her wedding ceremony was held bit away from where we live.

I hope you enjoyed the lovely Japanese new brides' pictures♬♬♬
Happy Autumnal Equinox Day to all of you♪♪♪

Wedding of my Sweet Girl!!!

LOVELY WEDDING ♡♡♡
Several days ago, my husband and I attended the wedding of my lovely student.  It sure is quite an honor to be invited the happy occasion.  She used to study with me when she were a university student.  And was coming to me again for some months to study a bit more before the marriage. You may recognize her through my blog, she kindly allowed me to post about her bringing us freshly baked bread or having soba lunch together.
She had been working hard for long time to prepare for it; consulting and arranging for everything with hotel and so on.  As her bridegroom and she were living a bit far away,  she talked and e-mail a lot with him.  In Japan at wedding,  usually a delicious lunch and a present called a "hikidemono" will be provided or served for all the guests.  She chose them by herself, even differnt gift for the diffrent guest.  I deeply admire her attitude not to leave up to her parents or future husband. Wonderful work my sweet girl!!!

I won these goodies with the game she prepared (very timely)

May the coming years, fill your lives with love and happiness.
