There was concert at the temple which my family is a parishioner. We hope you can enjoy hearing Japanese music with the Japanese style instruments. The three-stringed traditional Japanese musical instrument called "sanshin". I was happy to be able to enjoy the sound and share with you in my blog. Sanshin is a musical instrument strung with three strings. Here is the picture of 3 members were playing for us in front of the Temple’s altar.
The lady player was explaining about the instrument.
Wishing that you will enjoy the Japanese traditional sound.
Please let me add some comment of my husband who plays flute. The collaboration of Japanese & western instruments was so amazing & attractive without any uncomfortable feeling. He who wasn't born in Okinawa, even so he could enjoy the feeling of the sound with vibrato from the place sent to us, also to our surprise, the priest joined the performance. We heard that he played Samba a "drummer" when he was young.
After the performance was finished, we could have the rice-cake♬
This concert was hold for celebrating the birth of the Budda. As a part of the celebration, there was a rice-cake throwing. We all enjoyed this jolly time & I could get some p;-)

ReplyDeleteVery special to hear the sanshin sound music!
When enlarging the photo I saw that the rice cake was wrapped—so it was not messy.
