Winter Peony at city park and Bull-Headed Shrike;

*Illuminated Winter-Flowering Peony
On 11th night this month, I went to see illuminated Winter Peony at the City Park.
I've posted day time version here in 2018.  I think I will try both "day and night" version in the future by visiting on different days .

*Bull-Headed Shrike*
This Shrike had unique black spots on its head and back.
I was lucky it appeared for me on a fine day early this month or this year perching the tree in front of my house; I almost felt as if its appearance was New Year Present for me (^.^I wish I could have more luck this year.

Thank you very much for stopping by ;
   I always appreciate your sweet comments;

  1. Dearest Miyako,
    How lovely are those winter peonies! Are they being sheltered indoors during the night?
    It shows them in pots so that indicates they're not actually in the 'cold' soil during winter...
    Cute birdie pictures too.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  2. Miyako - that is a spectacular display in the park. How unique to use the umbrellas and the reeds to light the peonies. The shrike is a lovely symbol of the New Year. I am always amazed how you are visited by such a variety of birds - what a blessing for you and everyone at Mosaic Monday. Thanks for linking up!
