Getting ready for Rice Planting and Birds etc;

Rice-planting season has started
Starting to irrigate the rice-fields. Cattle Egrets and Herons are enjoying the meals alongside the farmers♪
Not as many as I hoped but it sure is sweet to see that the birds are not afraid of the farmers who are working hard and let them free ;-)

This Wagtail was flying around vigorously.
Took very short video; sorry for a bit shaking of the screen.

In the middle of last month, I found "Rhododendron" blooming along side of the road.

Thank you very much for stopping by.
Wishing you will have a wonderful  new week;

  1. Earlier this year when we took a rental RV south we passed many rice fields near the Sacramento Delta. Because of the ample supply of water it is a big rice growing area. The fields were resting when we passed because it was still winter. - Margy

  3. I always love the sceneries of rice fields. As a child, I enjoyed looking for tadpoles in paddy fields. Your photos are so beautiful with pretty birds enjoying a peaceful day. Though wagtail in the video looks very vigorous indeed :-)
    Beautiful blossoms you found alongside the road! Happy June, Miyako san. (Can you believe it’s June already?) Have a wonderful week!

  5. Miyako - you had a tough job to keep up with the wagtail for the video - it was flitting around so much. I think you did well! The rhododendron are so lovely - the delicate and intricate coloring is a delight. Thanks for sharing these special sights with everyone at Mosaic Monday!

  6. Miyako, this is an interesting post. Beautiful rhododendron. Our azaleas have long ago bloomed out, but I have a small potted one that is still pretty. Thanks for sharing this with us!

  8. Lovely to see the farmer at work, and the bird catching a little meal too. Oh these Rhododendrons are so beautiful. In Holland we lived for a while in a house that had a huge bush of about 10 feet high. Really, you are getting good in doing the videos, Miyako! Lovely post you are showing All Seasons of the area you live in. Have a beautiful week:)

  12. Dearest Miyako,
    This rice field planting post makes me homesick for the island of Java, Indonesia.
    Loved seeing the rice fields in all their stages!
    The Ibis is flying rather nervous above the water...
    Hugs,
    Mariette
