New Year Lesson and Nature ;

New Year  Lesson
New Year on 6th, my husband visited Lady Key-Board player of the band he involves to fix the part where he feels hard to tune in with others.
He practiced with her and recorded her Soro to use them at home. She mainly teaches students to play drum. She has 2 items for teaching I've never seen before.   I am Thankful to this lady.
This is the pedal box (?) for children; putting it onto the connected one with piano.
Below is the Music Table. You use floppy disks to make sounds.
You can just pound the round part.

My first Citrus Fruit and Birds  from visiting
To my surprise, there is a new citrus tree in her garden. Her mother taught me the name, but I've never heard it p;-)  In Japanese, "Kinzu, 金豆"; Webkinz (Golden bean). It is an ornamental plant, not edible. Here is the picture page of the potted plant of it.

Redstart and Bull-headed Shrike
When I was enjoying her garden, I found a Redstart perching on the plum tree outside her house.  Seems like regular bird recently ;-)
Happy to see this cute looking Bull-headed Shrike on the electric wire.
Thank you very much for stopping by;
Wishing year 2019 will be the Happy one for you all!

  1. Miyako - how wonderful to have two posts from you for Mosaic Monday! You must be very proud of your husband - someone who is not afraid to admit that there is still something for him to learn … Your birds are lovely, especially the shrike! Have a terrific week!

  2. May I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR. You bird images are superb.

  3. The pedal box looks interesting. I've never seen it before, either! And I've never heard of Kinzu. They look pretty and remind me of Kinkan :-)
Cute birdies looking round :-) Have a happy new week, Miyako san xo

  4. That's a sweet-looking bird. A robin visited our yard this morning, which surprised me. We don't usually see robins until end of Feb. or March looking for a place to nest. The fruits on the ornamental plant look delicious. Too bad they aren't edible. A Joyful 2019 to you!

  5. Thanks for sharing your always wonderful photos. Love the birds. Happy New Year to you, my friend.

  6. Happy New Year to you and yours! You're off to a good start when there is both music and the sound of birds in your life. :)

  7. Miyako, thank you for your nice comment about the pine tree at All Seasons. Regrettably the mountains and higg temperatures distorts its growth. Am glad they can adapt and survive. Without them the desert would be a barren place! Who knows you will on time visit the desert:):)
Making music is always fun! The additional wooden box seems practical! Too bad this beautiful fruit is not edible! You would not be Miyako, if you couldn't find birds (even in other people's gardens:))

  8. Dearest Miyako,
Completely new terms to me in music... pedal box I don't know about it either.
Lovely bird photos and ornamental Golden bean.
Just a short visit as I'm tired after driving more than 500 km today... Pieter no longer can drive on the Interstate so I'm the sole driver for years already.
It wears me out... and tomorrow I have to start tutoring at 9:00 and in the evening our first choir rehearsal. So it means a busy and full day!

  9. Happy New Year!
    Those are lovely birds!

  10. Lovely Birds! Wishing you a fantastic 2019!

  11. So nice to see that your husband was able to receive some help from this lady. Wonderful! Thank you for linking up today and each Thursday!

  12. Music is such a great hobby Miyako! I myself don’t sing or play any instrument, but my husband does. He has a great voice. Both my son and daughter-in-law sing in a chorus... That sitrus tree is a delight for the eye, as are your beautiful bird photos. Wishing a lovely weekend.

  13. Hello. Wonderful photos. Beautiful birds. Happy weekend!

  14. I've seen redstarts! Not this month, too cold for them, they've gone. I'm happy to see where they be!
(ツ) from Cottage Country Ontario , ON, Canada!

  15. What lovely starts for both of you this year! Thanks so much for linking at My Corner of the World.

  16. And, my thanks goes out to you for sharing this all with us birders at I'd Rather B Birdin this weekend.

  17. Loved seeing the birds you chose to include...they are so pretty.

  18. The birds are wonderful .... and the plant! I’m not a musician at all , but only a listener. it is wonderful that your husband and his band mates work together to make their sound even better!

  19. Hello, Miyako, your husband is talented. Happy New Year, I wish you all the best in 2019. Love the sweet birds, lovely photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. I've been away and now catching up with my comments and blog visits. I appreciate your comment and visit to my blog. Have a happy day and week ahead.

  20. Such a sweet bird, and lovely photos.
    I love all the yellow!
And the plum tree! I live in Japan too, and the plum trees are just starting to blossom! I never saw a little yellow bird like that, though we have *meijiron* which has a pretty green color!! Happy New Year!!
