*New Calligraphy from husband's ex-lady colleague*
*Bird. Dragonfly and Flower*
In the middle of this month, I found Bubulcus Ibis in the rice paddy close to my house.

The other day, my husband was given New Calligraphy in his hobby room from his ex-lady colleague. The phrase written on this work is appropriate for coming summer♪ Sorry if my translation sounds funny.
"Balloon; get on the wind and fly fluffy"
The pictures below is from my blog about her work we decorated previously. "link"*Bird. Dragonfly and Flower*

The pictures of Silver Wattle below was taken early April blooming in the park near my house. I thought the color matches with the Dragonfly.

Lovely collection of photos. Love the ibis - the ones here in Florida don't have a brown head. Yours are charming.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a wonderful gift from your husband’s ex-colleague! I love this particular calligraphy work. It was quite eye catching in the exhibition! It looks great on the wall of his hobby room :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful bird bubulcus ibis is. I love their peach on white color feathers. Silver wattle looks very elegant.
I always enjoy your gorgeous photos and arrangements in your page :-) Happy July and have s great new week!
Dearest Miyako,
ReplyDeleteYour husband has very kind and artful former colleagues and they seem to stay in touch very well. Love her work.
The bird photos are special but I was very pleased to see that you also have the beautiful Silver wattle. LOVE any wattle tree, my memory of Australia very much and we tried to grow here but frost in the winter killed them. They only endure a certain cold level.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
The new calligraphy is different but beautiful too! In Europe and America it is almost a lost art.I wished the ones who do graffiti would do calligraphy!
ReplyDeleteI love wattle, in Holland we call it "mimosa" - am not sure about the USA, but I've never seen it in California (too hot and dry). Wished I had your skill in capturing birds, Miyako! Many thanks for sharing your post with All Seasons - and you are the first this week - yay! Have a lovely week!
Yes a lovely and generous gift, I really like this
ReplyDeleteThe ibis bird is so pretty. I've never seen one before, in person or in a photo. Thanks for sharing yours.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Your husband is honored by his colleagues. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHi Orchid,
ReplyDeletethe new calligraphy piece looks very good on your wall, what a kind gift to your husband from his colleague. Excellent nature photography once again this week, birds, insects and flowers all perfectly presented in your lovely mosaics.
Wishing you a very good week ahead.
Maggie.
How lovely! It's beautiful art! And of course I love your bird photos and flowers. Enjoy your week sweet lady!
ReplyDeleteThe characters in the gift of calligraphy from your husband's former work colleague looks airy and carefree, as if even the shapes reflect a lighthearted spirit. The ibis is a beautiful bird, as are the yellow mimosa (I think) flowers. The world is full of beauty. Have a good week, Miyako.
ReplyDeleteThe birds are so beautiful with their touchs of scarlet. Thanks for linking the calligraphy exhibition. Have a nice week Orchid
ReplyDeleteMuch💞
You know that I admire so much the Japanese calligraphy. Your husband's new treasure decorates so well the wooden wall and to me reflects equilibrium of mind. I would love that too!
ReplyDeleteWe have plenty of forests & big wood / paper industry in Finland. Nowadays bare wooden walls are used in our summer cottages.
the calligraphy is beautiful and of course we have the wattle here in Australia - many varieties in fact. I don't think they are flowering just yet. I love your borders you do for your images. Have a fabulous week. I've joined you from Wednesday around the world.
ReplyDeleteOh! I love the yellow flowers! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, indeed, Miyako, especially the ibis.

The ibis is lovely, and I especially like the shot of the one about to take off. Interesting name for the Silver Wattle, since it looks golden!
ReplyDeleteHello, Miyako, the gift of calligraphy is beautiful. I love the Cattle Egret, they are lovely in their breeding colors. I never knew them by the name Bubulcus Ibis. Awesome captures of the dragonfly. The Silver Wattle is beautiful. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your day and weekend!
