Hydrangea, Water lily from city park and birds;

Hydrangea and Water Lilly from City Park
Late last week my husband had some errands close to our city park, so I stopped by there to take pictures of the flowers. Although Water Lillies were not in full bloom, enjoyed the varieties of Hydrangeas. I had a nice photographing day after having a rainy day.

With Chinese character, this flower is written like this "睡蓮; すいれんsuiren".  Every Chinese character has a meaning and "睡, sleep: 蓮, lotus". I was really surprised to know from pc that when the sunshine gets weaker during the day, it actuallystarts closing the flower. Checking the derivation or new finding through writing blog always enhance my knowledge♪

Black Kite on our way to vising relatives
This one was perching on the roof of the warehouse (maybe). I found it when we stopped our car to buy some drink. The outcomes of the pictures made me happy as they were unbelievably clear considering the distance ;-)
I  LOVE their dignified face with sharp eyes.

My husband is watching soccer (in Japan we call this way) world cup. He seems a bit excited as he wishes to have a better result following women's team.
Have a wonderful new week Wishing to see you soon.

  2. Dearest Miyako,
The hydrangea season is right now and provided they have enough water, they look stunning.
LOVE your Lotus flower pictures and yes, we all learn from working on blogs and by reading others.
Your Black kite photos are incredible.

  4. Wished I could have water lilies in my garden (but then I first need to make a pond, haha). they are so beautiful, Miyako! And so are the hydrangeas. Every year I buy a potted one because this flower does not do well (altitude I live on is too high!) A fantastic post - many thanks for All Seasons, and have a beautiful week! Jesh StG~

  6. Hi Miyako, love your hydrangeas today, the blue flowers are my favourite followed closely by white. Sadly the hydrangeas in my garden are all pink due to the soil which they grow in.
Are you watching the World Cup with your husband? I watched the England v Panama game yesterday and we won 6 - 1!
    Happy Mosaic Monday.

  12. Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers because they are beautiful in all stages, even when fading. And I love all the colors you show. And so very interesting to read about the meaning of the word for water lilies! Of course, it makes sense! I've seen them still closed early in the morning. Beautiful bird as well -- you have a great camera (and great talent too!).

  14. Miyako - what a lovely post this week. First the glorious hydrangeas and then the water lilies … I adore water lilies, both the pads and the flowers. My husband is also watching the world cup - so far England is doing well, so he is happy! By the way, I may not be commenting as often for the next few weeks since I will have my in-laws visiting from the UK. We are going to have a great time!

  15. Hello Miyako,

Dignified is a good word for describing the face of the kite. Very apt. Hydrangeas are beginning to bloom in my garden these days. I think they are beautiful, and a little bit dignified, too, the way they hold themselves up so well. The water lilies are so lovely. Enjoy this beautiful season.
