Azalea Festival at next city's park etc;

*Last Sunday, there was Azalea festival at next city's park*
And my husband performed with his band group.

  I strolled the park for a while before his stage to enjoy the flower♪

*Japanese Bonsai "potted tree" were exhibited in the exhibition room there*

*On  the stage, there were several performances by the young people*
And then bit seniors turn to perform p:-)
Weather forecast said going to be rain, but surprised that it got sunny without cloud.
It was unfortunate that STRONG Spring Wind disturbed their performances (^^;)

At the lake-side, I only found people feeding carps and some ducks.
No winter birds, unfortunately.

Mochi 'rice cake' throwing for the last to celebrate the festival;

*Scenery on our way back home*
I got SO nostalgic seeing the wide ares of Chinese milk vetch 'renge レンゲ' planted
in the rice paddy♪
Funny and happy coincidence that I could take picture of the flower
with Shinkansen
(^.^

    And 5 egrets were enjoying free time together close to the rice paddy.

Thank SO much for reading this long picture post again.
Taking a chance to link several pages, too.
And hope to be able visit you before the next post...
Have a great rest of the week with the best season weather, everyone;

  3. Glad it turned out to be such a beautiful day! Though, I imagine it's really hard to perform in a strong wind. I hope the music notes didn't get blown away :-) Love the azalea blossoms and bonsai exhibits. They are so pretty! And the rice paddy looks soooo pretty filled with Renge flowers. How lucky that you captured them with Shinkansen!

  4. A charming post as always my dear Miyako! There could not be a better reason for a festival than welcoming Spring! (I'm glad it didn't rain, but sorry for the wind.) I love the bonsai. We once knew a man who had studied the art with someone from Japan -- for a while we owned a beautiful creation of his. We gave it to one of our grown children when we sold our home to travel.

  10. Dearest Miyako,
    Oh my you had quite an exciting time there all together!
    Love the stage with young and adult artists performing, including your dear husband.
    But what really amazed me most was that Bonsai Wisteria!!! What a gem that is and what an art.
    I've always admired that art of pruning it such that it only looks like a dream.
    Thanks for sharing your photos.
    I'm in a hurry as I'm still scanning, got now ⅔ done so I hope soon to be FREE again.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  19. A lovely festival, dearest Miyako, too bad about the wind but it looks like they manage to play anyway. The Azaleas are just starting to bloom here too. But no festival.:-( I like the flowers and bonsais, especially the one with the "windswept" trees and flowers on the rugged rocks. I don't know the top right purple flowers above the primulas in the group of 4. The fields of milk vetch are so colorful, we just get small patches of vetch here in spring. Hugs from the PNW!
