Flowers and Grand-Open of the Zoo in our City Park;

At the end of last month, there was Grand Opening ceremony in our city park zoo.
Here is the last year's post about temporarily condition there. This year, I was waiting to visit there until children's spring holiday was over on 7th :-)

*Scene with flowers around the solar clock at the park side*

*Scene in the Zoo with varieties of monkeys*
Happy that now we 'especially kids in our city' can enjoy seeing varieties of monkeys than we used to.   (not all animals I can introduce here)
White Gibbon

Bonnet-Monkey

Lion-tailed Macaque・ Gray Langur

Patas Monkey・ Squirrel Monkey・ Black and White Ruffed Lemur

Capybara・ Meerket

common crane

Mandarin Duck
We call this bird 'oshidori.オシドリ '
The phrase we have in Japanese 'おしどり夫婦. oshidori-couple' is the metaphor of
Happily Married Couple.   T
hrough the PC-page, it seems not exactly so p:-)

Flowers in the Zoo

*Back to the Park Side View*

                   ☆Lovely Sheep-Dog I've met on that day

Amygdalus persica cv. Stellata; peach branch "菊桃, kikumomo"
Amazed to find its Japanese name "菊桃" before.  The two Chinese Characters, means "chrysanthemum.peach".  The name sure fits to its flower's shape and color.
(Although I've posted this flower last year, I wished to show you the close-up version here p:-)
Thank you SO much for stopping by for this long post today.
Trying to divide 2 post wasn't successful(^^;)  Wishing that your season is treating you better like ours here.  Have a nice rest of the week.

  5. The new zoo is so beautiful, dearest Miyako. The monkey exhibits give them lots of room to climb and play. I like all the flowers, too, beautiful red tulips, and the frilly peach blossoms are wonderful. I always enjoy your special artistic decorations, too. I saw a fun video of a Capybara interacting very lovingly with other animals. Hugs from the PNW!

  12. Dearest Miyako,
Wow, after having completed now over half of my photo albums, it is a treat to visit you!
Especially since our spring is rather miserable and cool with rain and dark days. Perfect for scanning photos...
You visited at a perfect time and it looks like a little paradise with such a burst of colors from all the spring bulbs, like tulips and daffodils.
Monkeys and my favorite mammal the Meerkat for sure were a joy to watch!
Sending you hugs and I'm a bit hurried still, have to complete my task and in-between I want to visit some blogs.

  13. Dear Miyako
Oh what a beautiful oping day for your Zoo.
The floral displays are outstanding - I'm sure you have the best Cherry Blossoms in the world!
The Meerkats are my favourites - they are comical to watch - especially the ones on sentry duty. They are so organised and run their families in true army style.

I'm sorry to hear about the terrible earthquake in Japan and I hope you are not in the region of Kumamoto.
Please let me know you are OK>=.
    Love
    Shane

  26. Oh that chrysanthemum peach flower is so beautiful -- I hope you share it every Spring!

The Zoo is a wonderful one and your pictures are too -- stunning really. Every picture is just perfect and you arrange them better than anyone else in the world.

(To make you smile ...While I was writing this comment I realized I did not know how to spell chrysanthemum -- I had to scroll back up to see how you did it! So now you know you write in English better than I can and it has been my native language for over 75 years ;>)!!!
