Having been experiencing the hottest summer ever, I thought about this marvelous, amazing flower; which I've never seen. I happened to come across elegant illustrations of them from Japanese illustration site.

ReplyDeleteHow elegant and beautiful this is Miyako. I read about the heat wave you are experiencing. When the weather is that hot, it is hard to find much energy!
ReplyDeleteMariette grows some gorgeous flowers. Hope things are cooling down a bit there, Miyako. We had a couple of heat waves this summer, not too bad. xo
ReplyDeleteDearest Miyako,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out! That is a nice coincidence that we both mention the Epiphyllum oxypetalum! It is such a regal flower... the Queen of the Night.
I am late as I slept for the first time during the night, since Sunday. We were still up 3 x during last night to fight the water but it is less. The sun is out and we pray it will stay for longer time so the area can dry out. So many people are fighting these Flash Floods where the ground water enters the home... Too saturated everywhere so the water just runs off and living in a hilly area, that's what happens. From higher areas it all comes towards us.
Hugs to you,
Mariette
Miyako, the illustrations are beautiful. I went to the site from the link you provided. Very beautiful there!
