This 3rd, we have been to see 'Flying Kite Contest' held at next city along the beach. There are some categories (kids, linked kites, etc.) awarded by its beauty. The big ones were flown by the guest, who came from Kyushu, for kind of a demonstration.

These are made by contestants.
He kindly show his before flying it♬♬♬ Especially for the linked ones, it might be better for the enlarged ones(^^;) I DO wish to be able to use SLR camera for taking the view of the sky; I still can not be bold enough to buy and try p;) So please forgive my fiddling the pictures.
I got these pictures arranged but I didn't have time to post. Happy to find time and I wish to visit more friends later in the afternoon. I hope you are having or will
have a wonderful Sunday.

Oh Miyako, what memories seeing this post. My father and I would go kite flying when I was a little girl, I loved to run with the kite flying behind me. Of course, my kite never got as high up as my father's kite did, but we always had a great time. Have a wonderful week! (((hugs))) xo
ReplyDeleteI love to see kites flying, and especially the ones like you have shared with us, that are so large and masterfully flown, my dear friend.
ReplyDeleteThe large ones are popular on the beach near us, and we always have so much wind around here that it makes a perfect combination for flying the kites.
Thank you for the lovely post!
Hi Miyako, what a great day out. I've never been kite flying but have seen a festival once when we were on holiday in Australia. There was not the size and variety that you show though.
ReplyDeleteDid you ever have your own kites?
Thanks for sharing.
blessings,
Diana

Dear Miyako,
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful kites. The photos are perfect the way you have put them together. It's hard for me to believe that the large kite can actually become airborn and the linked one of the birds is such a clever design. Thank you for sharing this event. Have a wonderful week.
