Memories with my parents;

My late mother used to sew my clothes when I was little. It was a lot more than half a centuries ago p;)  I looked interested in sewing machine then...  How wonderful if I could inherit her skill. I am really clumsy with hands. I vaguely remember the sounds of old sewing machine made; she started working sometime around I became an elementary school girl.  In these two pictures, I am wearing the dress she made for me.  Haha, I wonder why I was making such a sulky face.



I hope you all are having a marvelous week.  
After Obon it should be a bit cooler in Japan.  
Well, it will take some more time (^^;)

    What a darling little girl you are, my dear friend Miyako! Your mother was a talented seamstress, and it is obvious she enjoyed making beautiful clothes for you. The sewing machine reminds me of the one my grandmother had~

    I love your photos. You're such a cute little girl. Your memories are similar to mine. My mom and grandma also made most of our clothes when we were growing up.

    Thank you for sharing these family photos. I have memories of my mother sewing the dresses my sisters and I wore when we were young. I can still remember a few of them. One time she made us all matching blouses and made my father a shirt of the same material. Have a beautiful week my dear bs. Love you always.

    My mother also sewed my clothes, but I do my children were small as well :). Yours.

    I love the way you scrapbooked the photos. Very pretty. You look so very cute! My mother used to sew my clothes also. I sewed a lot for my daughters too, but they didn't want to learn to sew. They still bring clothes for me to mend. Love and blessings to you.

    What an adorable child you were, Miyako. Such lovely photos and beautiful memories. I took sewing lessons in school, but never kept up with it. Such a mistake for me, I think. xo

    Oh what a lovely memory! It's wonderful you get to wear the clothes your mom made. I'm very clumsy myself, also I have no skill with sewing machine either...hahaha.

    That is a very sweet picture of you as a cute toddler! Those photos are so precious. Especially during this Obon, it is because of fond memories to dwell on... That is life; only the memories will be left. We experienced that once again this weekend.

    It seems we all had beautiful mothers who sewed for us. My daughter is also a lovely seamstress, she has even made a wedding dresss for one of her friends, and bridesmaid dresses for another friend.

    Hi dear Miyako. I am having a little bloggy break, but just has to pop over and say hallo! This is such a lovely post, and what a cute little girl you were. Would you believe thaT my mum was a seamstress as well, and made all my clothes for years. Her work was as good on the inside of the material as it was on the outside. I can always see her hunched over her Singer sewing machine! Thank you for bringing back memories of my own dear mum my friend. Sending love to you x

    My mother used to sew clothes for me, too. Don't think I have any pictures of me wearing anything she made. Unfortunately, the sewing skills did not carry on with me. Hope your having a lovely day. Tammy

    My grandmother made my clothing. She sewed on an old sewing machine she pumped with her feet. I can still hear the sound.
