Dearest Miyako,
ReplyDeleteThat sure was quite an outing for your husband!
He is quite an artist and so is his wife as well.
The gifts for your husband are also unique, even though they're not dragonflies, his favorite.
Did you know that I also was at a bamboo crafting event in Japan? We only made propellors, a simple task.
You can see it here: http://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2011/03/japanese-yubikan-from-1692-that-i.html

How exciting your husband and you got to visit the bamboo craftsman. The detail of each of his crafts is amazing and they are displayed beautifully. The musical instruments are very cute :-) His wife is a very talented artist, too. Those are such beautiful gifts. They look so real!

Miyako - I can see why your husband would want to meet this man. He is clearly very talented. I think the manner of displaying his work is very effective - it looks like an army of insects! I admire the praying mantis, so I was delighted to see that this is one of his specialties! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday so all can see the work of this artist!
