Broad Bean and Rice Planting.etc;

Broad Bean given Twice
Half a month ago,  my aunt gave us many of them harvested by her relative.  And some days ago, my husband's ex-lady collage stooped by saying they are homemade ones♪  I found that they are sold a bit expensive price ;-)  Sweet memories I have helping mother to take the beans out of  skin.
Left Just boiled and right I flied them with butter after boiled.
Picture below is from picture page.

Scenes from the rice paddy etc,
Pictures below are all taken on the first of this month. Herons were trying to have some meal beside the working farmers. Herons don't seem to bother farmers. Happy to them getting along well ;-)   I happened to see that the Wheat were just being ready to get harvested at the different paddy. So happy to see the gold carpet of them for the first time.  Felt Thankful for their work.  Yellow flowers are on the road side and I found the Skylark at the edge of the wheat field.

Thank you very much for stopping by; See you soon

  3. I would be happy to see ONE heron - look how many there are in that field!!! Perhaps the farmer likes to see them because they eat insects that are a problem for the farmer? The yellow flowers are amazing - bountiful and beautiful!

  5. Beautiful scenes from your corner of the world. I, too, am thankful for those who work to grow food that we all eat. Their work is so valuable. I've never eaten broad beans, but your dish looks delicious. The white heron is a graceful bird. Have a wonderful week, Miyako.

  7. Oooh the beans looks so yummy! They must go really well with butter!
Love the sceneries at the rice paddy. So peaceful. Makes me smile to see farmers and herons together :-) Herons look so elegant! I wasn't aware it's harvest season for wheat. What a beautiful golden carpet! The yellow flowers are so beautiful, too, blossoming around the fence :-)
Have a wonderful new week, Miyako san xo

  11. Hello Dear Miyako, it was lovely seeing your post. We too have grown broad beans. The young ones are delicious steamed whole in their pods (but must be young so they are tender). I like your method of steaming and then frying in butter... nice!
Beautiful Herons and those yellow flowers make a pretty picture.
Good cheer to you :D) xx

  13. Dearest Miyako,
Wow, broad beans bring such happy childhood memories for me; my Dad grew them commercially. We loved skinning them, they feel so soft and velvety. LOVE eating them too but here in the entire state, due to the warm climate, you cannot find any.
MISS this delicious and healthy veggie very much.
Oh, those rice paddies are a frog paradise for the herons; no doubt.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  23. My parents used to grow broad beans so your photos reminded me of these, I used to love shelling them with their wonderful soft furry feel inside the shells. I have never tried them fried. Herons are such elegant birds!
