Cluster Amaryllis alongside the rice paddy & Cosmos etc;

Cluster Amaryllis and Rice Reaping (in the paddy)
Two days after I took Cluster Amaryllis of previous post, I had luck taking some pictures of good scenes. While making detour after shopping, found them blooming beautifully alongside the rice paddy♪

*A sweet family was busy for Rice Reaping*
While driving, we found a family working together with children. I asked the grandmother if it's OK taking pictures, she kindly accepted my request♪
*Another paddy already finished reaping*

Cosmos (pink  and yellow)
How lucky I was on that day, finding two different colors of Cosmoses (its Chinese Character "秋桜" means "autumn cherry blossom"). And a Swallowtail was flying around busily, I was also busy chasing it almost frantically p:)

Let me add Oriental Green Finch from Feb. this year;
Love the contrast of the eyes, one on the left looks a little sweet without the black spot under the eye -:)  Surprising, how good they are to perch even on the tip of the branch.
We had another electronics problem... ; 4 days ago, our 15 year old 26 inch LCD TV broke.  We looked for new sideboard for our new (34 inch) but my husband decided to remodel not to buy new one. (busy fetching things for him). He is still working on it.  At the same time, gardener came to prone our tiny garden "once a year we ask him).
So sorry that Haven't been able to visit everyone since I posted previous one.
         Try HARD form tomorrow;  See You Soon everyone!

  3. Hi Miyako san. Wow, those amaryllis blossoms are gorgeous! They color the scenery so beautifully. And cosmos - especially the pink ones, seeing them makes me feel that the autumn is really here :-)
    The tractor for rice reaping looks very cool. I hope the family had good harvest. Oriental Green Finch is so adorable, and really good at perching on tip of the branch, especially when he looks so...round :-)
    Have a wonderful new week, Miyako san!

  4. Hello Dear Miyako,
    Such lovely photos of the Amaryllis in full bloom - the colours are wonderful.
    It was nice to be able to see that little family working together like that. Very hardworking.
    Beautiful birds and, as always, your commentary is really interesting.
    You've been having an awkward time with your electrical goods indeed! It seems they are talking to each other... being naughty all at once ;D) Good wishes and enjoy your week xx

  5. How nice of the butterfly to come by while you were photographing the flowers:):) Even though I was born in Asia, I have never seen a rice plant close up. Is it the kernel that they dry? (and we eat?)Such an interesting post Miyako! Nice of that family to allow themselves be photographed, to share with All Seasons! Thank you much! Have a beautiful week:)

  6. I've never seen Amaryrillis growing wild before for us they are seasonal pot plant to be brought into flower at Christmas. The rice reaping was interesting to see and I can picture you fluttering around trying to get a successful butterfly photo, well done!
    Happy Mosaic Monday.

  12. Hello dear Miyako! I have not thought of rice or learned so much since I have been visiting your blog. We have some nasty instant rice here as I really need a rice cooker to make some good tasting rice...Love the flowers and the butterfly. I have not seen one for a couple of weeks now....Michelle

  14. Just LOVED the swallowtail on the Autumn Cherry Blossoms! Gorgeous photos. Lovely Cluster Amaryllis and the yellow flowers as well. I thought rice only grew in wet ground. The harvesting pictures were interesting to see.

  16. Dearest Miyako,
    Oh my, so sorry to read about another fall out of your electronics.
    The saying goes: when it rains it pours and that is often the truth!
    But you soften life by observing the beauty around us and also for showing us the Japanese rice reaping. I'd never seen that and the cute size of the tractor is special.
    Lovely flowers and birds.
    Sending you hugs,
    Mariette

  19. That beautiful swallowtail butterfly on the pink cosmos is absolutely beautiful. All of your nature pictures are (as always) lovely, but that one absolutely touched my heart! It was fun to see the family working on the rice harvest. When we're traveling we often stop to watch harvesting -- it is always so interesting -- but of course I've never seen this kind of harvest.

    Thank you for teaching me about that and for your joyful pictures.
