*Cherry Blossom 2017 from our City Park*
You all might know Japanese people adore cherry blossom. The delicate flower blooms only for a very short while.
For us they represent the transience of life. It seems that this particular
characteristics ties in deeply with the fundamental teachings of Buddhism,
which says all life is suffering and transitory. We hold
this Buddhist belief strongly and the transitory nature of life is
very noble, not get too attached to a particular outcome or not become
emotional because it will all pass in time.
We are not blessed with weather this year; Yesterday (9th) they were in full-bloom and we expect bad weather coming few days.
Pictures were taken under the cloudy and later drizzling weather.
Around 2 o'clock, still some were enjoying Vewing Blossom "Hanami・花見". |
Blossom with Raindrops; |
Went there again to enjoy Night View and Illumination.
This big one was illuminated at night, should have taken a video :-)
At the parking lot.
*Less than a week ago before flowers blossoming*
On our way back from shopping, I found a little Bull-headed Shrike perching on the branch of the cherry tree. And also an Osprey with Seagull along the river.
Sorry for my usual absence to you all! I was a bit under par but getting better.
I appreciate my husband's help and taking me places :-)
I DO hope you will start a wonderful new week.

Hello Miyako, the cherry blossoms are beautiful. I love the trees in the spring. The pretty lanterns at night must look lovely in person. Great bird sightings, the Shrike is cool. I hope you feel better, take care. Have a happy day and new week ahead!
ReplyDeletestunning beauty!
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful cherry blossoms and the park and the bird and your wonderful pictures (with the colors and at night) all bring joy. But the part that I loved best in this post was learning about what the cherry blossoms symbolize in Buddhism. I needed the reminder that all things pass ...and that it doesn't help to get overly emotional about things. Thank you for sharing that.
ReplyDeleteOh, my! These images are exquisite. I would love to be walking among these cherry blossoms. I've always wanted to go to DC when the cherry trees were in bloom. Perhaps someday I can experience it. Until then, your amazing photos will give me much pleasure.

ReplyDeleteCherry blossoms are beautiful in sunshine and in rain. We are enjoying them here, too. Some are palest pink, like the inside of an oyster shell, and others are brighter. They are all lovely. I like the idea of picnicking under them as you've shown in your photo.
ReplyDeleteHello Dear Miyako, I hope you are starting to feel a bit better. Yes, it is good to take time away from blogging when that happens. I am going slower at times now, and we all meet up in good time once more.
