Our next neighbor's elementary school girl attended the event held on 16th last month.
I have no idea about a little funny sculpture in front of the merry go around :-)
Our city has many sculptures decorated at the various places inside the city.
Our City flower is Scarlet Sage or Salvia;

As the event was for handicap people, there was a help with sign language. |
*Our City’s
Character “Choko-kun” *
I happened to have met 'Choko-kun' at my regular department store. Taken its name by our famous sculptures; in Japanese, sculpture is 'chokoku・彫刻'. We put 'kun' when we call boys like kind of honorific with cute way. The corner was for the local special products. The young lady was holding green tea.'茶, cha' is Chinese character for 'tea'
* Fence and Skinny Egret and Blue Heron *
I found this fence on our way to the city park.
And my regular egret and heron in the nearby river on our way back from shopping. Sorry for the bad quality of the pictures, taken from the other side of the river.

Hello Miyako!:) The event looks like fun. I like the friendly characters and the carousel. Your city flower, Salvia, is such a vibrant red colour and is used a lot in our municipal gardens too. Lovely Egret and Heron shots and also fence image. Best Regards.:)
ReplyDeleteThat event looks like a really fun one. Lots to see & do there.
ReplyDeleteNice fence scene and great shots of the Egret and Heron.
Alway so good there's a help with sign language. My daughter can talk in the same way :-)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your whole series and especially the dance.
ReplyDeleteThe scarlet salvia is beautiful! It is very interesting to see these pictures from the other side of the world!
ReplyDeleteYour City flower is beautiful -- so colorful they cheer me up! And that's what flowers are for. Your 'usual' birds are always so regal and lovely to look at (and I don't see many of these big birds here in Oregon -- not like we do when we're in Florida).
ReplyDeleteHello, the mascot is cute. I love the salvia, it attracts the hummers here. Your Egret and Herons images are beautiful. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteNice photos! The event looked like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteYour bird photos are outstanding!!! Loved seeing the beautiful egrets and herons.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by to add your link to this post for us birders this weekend at I'd Rather B Birdin'. It's always greatly appreciated.
By the way, my father was an avid gardener, and he always had red salvia in his flower beds.
The Scarlet Sage is very pretty, and your waterbird friends are so elegant, Miyako.
