One of Mother's Memory;

(posted; Japanese culture page)  *Japanese Tuitate ”衝立, partition” used to be at my late parent's house*                               Link page of my former post and picture page

This partition decorated inside of the front door of my late parents' empty house
finally found new place to go this spring.
I remember my mother was so excited and looked happy finding this tuitate and decorating inside of the front door more than 40 years ago when they bought the house and moved from tiny company housing.  I myself was not so fond of this one when she chose as I thought the shape was not so lovely and a little big :-)
My husband had heard that his acquaintance who is the owner of the Japanese style pub was planning to remodel his pub. And I felt SO happy this partition which my parents really loved when having their (our) new house finally found the new place.

*Reused as an ornament the Wall Decor of the front door of "Japanese style pub"*

 And below is from the picture page;
   Left one has Japanese atmosphere and Right one has stained glass♪

First of all, thank you so much for your sweet words for my face trouble,
I'm still at a loss now(^^;)
 And dealing with (or pick up) after tyhoon's damage, haha.
Hope you are having better, wonderful week;  See You Soon.

  1. Hello Miyako, I hope you did not have much damage from the typhoon? It is so nice to see your Mother's Tuitate partition being reused. It looks so nice in it's "new" home! I hope you face heals soon, take care. Have a happy day!

  2. Oh Miyako, it is a very lovely piece and I'm happy you found such a good home for it. One where so many folks will be able to enjoy it too! Enjoy your week!

  3. i'm so sorry for the typhoon damage, too! i do hope next week will be a better one for you!

    i LOVE that partition turned wall decor! gorgeous!! and i love the other partitions, especially the one on the bottom left.

  4. That was a gorgeous piece of Myrtle Wood (We have a piece similar that someone gave us) - I'm glad it's found a new purpose. - Some nice gates inside there as well. I was not aware that you'd had a Typhoon, so sorry to hear that and hope things were not to bad as far as clean-up and damage.

  5. I am so happy that the gorgeous piece of wood found a home where lots of people can enjoy it.

  6. Dearest Miyako,
    So happy that this favorite piece of your Parents has found a new 'Life'.
    Very meaningful.
    Sad for having to collect the debris after a typhoon. Hope you manage well.

  7. it looks lovely on its new place!

  8. That's really cool!
    I hope to see you at, and please join us each week for Wordless Wednesday (on Tuesday)!

  9. I think it's very handsome, Orchid. And it has a family history, too!

  10. Dearest Miyako, the polished wood slice is beautiful, but I can tell from the restaurant photo that it is very big and looks so marvelous there, but would be intimidating in a home. I like the Japanese fence decoration, such clean lines. And I like the elegant black carved table, too, so shiny. I hope the typhoon was not a scary event. We are finally supposed to get some rain. I have used Tamanu oil on my skin for healing, I hope you recover soon. Hugs from the PNW, Hannah

  11. Oh that is so lovely that your mother's favorite decoration found a perfect home! I too think it would be just a little too large for a home, but that it is perfect where it is. (But if it gave your mother and father pleasure in their home, it was perfect for them of course! ... every generation changes just a bit I think ;>)

  12. Oh, forgot to add -- I was so glad you hear in your comment on my post that you are recovering well from the typhoon. I hope you do not get any more bad weather!!!
