April.7th Drive. part 2 (Sea of Rock)

*oo-iwa-go (大岩郷)*
I've posted this place last Sep. here.  As it was on our way back on April 7th, my husband sweetly made a detour for me:-)  "大岩郷" literally mean,"large-rock-countryside".  There are 2 theories how this "Sea of Rock" created. One of them is diastrophism. Nature is always a wonder for us to know♪ Let me show you the different season of this place from my former post.

          I found dandelions there, and pictures below are for Judith's "MosaicMonday"

This last pic. is from last Sep. which I haven't posted.  With a bit more greenery in the back..
In 1945, this place was  recognized as a national natural treasure.

Thank you very much for stopping by; I always appreciate your sweet visits;
I feel bad posting before visiting friends, but today I have time
and (hopefully) my busy days over:-)

  8. The boulders remind me of places like that here where I have hiked and had to climb over the boulders, it takes good balance. Seeing your dandelions makes me wonder where they are from and how they arrived there. I have so many weed flowers in my garden that came from places overseas, I think the dandelions are one of them.

  9. Dear Miyako, I would enjoy climbing those rocks, I would be a little slower these days than 20 years ago :) but it looks like a great place to explore and I would still have fun. Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos. The flowers are very pretty and I also thank you for your sweet comments. Happy day to you :)

  14. This is a very interesting place, Orchid. My state in the US, Colorado, is also a very rocky place and we have many mountains.

  24. That field of rocks is beautiful. It is so interesting that the flowers grow so beautifully around the rocks -- there must be very good soil in between the stones.

    I worked once for a geologist who knew all the names of rocks and land formations and how they came to be ... while I worked for him I understood it all a little. But as soon as I had a different job, I forgot everything he ever said :<((

    All I understand now is that they can be very beautiful -- as these are!!

  25. It is very interesting how these rocks were formed that way. Nature has surely lots of wonder to keep us amazed. Again, it is another wonderful view.
