Dradonflies and Unknown Flower;

*Two Dragonflies*
My husband spotted this "Pantala flavescensウスバキトンボ" while waiting me in the car.  He/She was on the thin twig of the tree in the bakery's parking lot. Luckily he/she stayed there long enough for me to take pictures. I was amazed at the glass like head especially this kind; I realized it when I saw it on pc's screen.  3 same angles p;-)

This ”Golden-ringed dragonfly,オニヤンマ was not alive when I found her (hubby said so) on the road in front of my house before going out for an errand. She was desiccated with surprisingly in a good condition. Now she is in my husband's hobby room getting really brownish; don't know how he would do with her p;)
The plastic model hubby built is the character of our city's industrial company.

*Unknown Flower*
This flower was blooming in my friend's garden taken on 25th of  last month.
This White Flower looked beautiful under the sun. But she didn't know the name and
I couldn't find it through pc either. Could anyone identify the flower

Thank you very much for stopping by;

  3. I have been spoiled with lots of dragonflies this summer! The flower is stunning, and their petals remind me of Hydrangeas, somewhat, like perhaps in the same family. Very beautiful!

  8. Dear Miyako,

    How lovely the photo of the dragonfly is with the delicate transparent wings. As for the white flower it is so pretty and not sure what it is.
    Enjoy your Obon family time, does not seem that long ago when I remembered you told us of this last year.

  14. Hello dear Miyako

    Great dragonfly photos.

    I agree with Gunilla I think it is Phlox Paniculata - it's heavenly!

  15. I'm glad the dragonfly stayed still long enough for you to take the top three photos! I think the white flower is phlox. It looks very much like the phlox I grow in my garden.

  16. The flowers look like phlox, but I can't tell for sure. When you search for photos of phlox online, compare the leaves too. The dragonfly is spectacular. It's one of my favorite animals. Have a nice weekend Miyako. Christa

  23. Dearest Miyako,
    Lovely dragonflies indeed and that white phlox is a gorgeous variety too. Just google for white phlox and you will find out which variety exactly it is. Must be fragrant I guess.
    Sending you hugs,
    Mariette

  30. Hello Miyako! Lovely photos of the dragonflies. Their heads do look glass-like as their eyes are very big so that they can see in all directions to better hunt other insects to eat. I see that you got an identification on the phlox. I had some planted but they got eaten by the deer...Michelle
