Happy Thanksgiving!

This year, I first learned how important Thanksgiving is for my friends in Canada and America. I learned about Plymouth and the hardship pilgrims had.

My Dear Friend Barbara (Two birds and a B) wrote a wonderful post today. I am really inspired by the phrase she quoted from the song, which is sung in church this time of year.  It is so wonderful being grateful for others. Although I am not a Christian, let me express my gratitude to God as well,

I am grateful for God giving me the strength what I am today,
I thank my mom in heaven and dad who is in old-people’s home. My hubby who has the huge understanding and lead me my life. Friends here in Japan (especially Ms, Murakami whom I shared a lot of foreign trips, enjoyable time and inspired me a lot).  And also the blogger friends who keep my life enlightening and support me in my difficult time,

Hope you have wonderful Thanksgiving day with your family and friends

  2. This is such a sweet, thoughtful acknowledgement of what is such an important festival to our American and Canadian blogging friends, Miyako. I, too, was not aware of the full meaning behind this tradition and have learnt a lot through blogging. It certainly is a wonderful opportunity for all of us, everywhere, to stop in our tracks and think about, and give thanks for, the many blessings we have. And, to acknowledge those whose lives are in turmoil. Big hug, Desiree xoxo

  4. Orchid this is such a lovely and thoughtful post. I think many of the people in my country celebrate this holiday merely for the feast and forget about why we have this holiday. I know how thankful I am to have so much and a life that is blessed by having so many good and dear friends like you in it. Thanks for being such a dear friend. Hugs

  5. Thank you, Orchid, for reminding us we don't need a designated day to be thankful- it should come every day because a thankful heart is a healthy heart. Have a wonderful week!
