Everything went smooth with bro's service and now I'm feeling relived. I know he is in a place where full of love and peace with our mother and others.
When we visited hubby's cousin last month, we stopped by her big brother's house as well. He bought an old Japanese house and renovated it. We didn't have much time then to take many photos. However, I'd like to show you just a couple of pictures of her house. Sorry for not clear photos as usual,

ReplyDeleteIt's a very lovely Japanese house!! I love the tatami room very much. At my parents' house in Japan, their tatami room also has the small window like that. It's short for people and looks more like window for flowers :-)

Hi Orchid san,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your brother service went well that made you peaceful your mind.
I like the an old home the third picture on left hand side the lady.
It seems very much that I have in here which we bought from Hawaii or Germany.
I will take photo and I will sent to you by email.
Have a great weekend,
Michiko
What a beautiful, restful home, Orchid! Of course, the Japanese do it so well, don't you? You have an instinctual eye for harmony and balance and we, in the West, try to emulate your natural style, but mostly fail miserably as we tend to quickly revert to gathering too much clutter. I love all the natural elements used in traditional Japanese dwellings. Wood is so warm and rich and harmonised with white shutters and other decorative elements looks so beautiful. Such clean lines create a sublime calm I'd love to achieve in my own home.
