Today I’d like to show varieties of Japanese tea cups and etc,
My friend romance-of-rose; who has a beautiful blog and really talented lady, even has electric-kiln to make her own porcelain tea cups, saucers, tea pots etc; asked me about Yunomi which I mentioned in the comment for her post.
I pasted some links of the picture-pages to give you some ideas what they are, (please click the title) And the pictures I pasted here are mine which I'm using.
Yunomi……… we use Yunomi (湯飲み) for every day, every meal usage.I pasted some links of the picture-pages to give you some ideas what they are, (please click the title) And the pictures I pasted here are mine which I'm using.
these Yunomi is a set with the rice bowls
Kyusu(teapot)……we put green tea leaves in these teapot and pour green tea into Yunomi
we keep tea leaves in these 茶筒 (tea leaf box)
Japanese tea-cup for ceremony…… Mine are very cheap ones and I don't drink strong ceremonial green tea much.
Set with kyusu……We use them mainly for the guests.
We have these several types of items for Japanese Green Tea. I reminisce my mother REALLY loved green tea and used to enjoy having a sip in the morning together. I remember using favorite ones she bought for me when young. I feel so strange and funny that I enjoy having green tea with western tea-cups now with the ones I posted for the "Tea Cup Tuesday" before.
PS> I found that my new editor got back around 10:00 this morning, whew... Thank you for the sweet comments for me!!!
Sweet Orchid, my friend ~ These are such beautiful tea pieces you & your friend have, sweetie. And sucsh treasured moments of treasured memories of Mother as you sip your tea.
ReplyDeleteHarold still loves having green tea with his meals. Yes, we have used some tea sets like this. Harold brought back many hand cast/created tea sets that I still have. I have saki cups, too.
Did you come over to see my story? Plese come tonight & leave a comment for a wonderful event for a child. If you already left a comment, then leave another.
Have a beautiful weekend, Orchid.
TTFN ~
Hugs,
Marydon

ReplyDeleteBeautiful cups, Orchid. I love the memories you shared with us about your mother. I enjoy sipping green tea, mostly in the winter. I drink coffee all year, one cup of hot coffe each morning, then sometimes iced coffee with sugar and cream.
ReplyDeleteI love the rice bowls Orchid, they are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI am on plain boring white plates at home, but I always make the food look good to compensate!
Have a great weekend!

Dear friend, you have such lovely tea cups even though you say they are cheap ones. You should see the plain looking cups I drink tea from. They are not fancy at all. This is what I told you about setting such a lovely table. Have a wonderful weekend.
