*Two kinds of Dragonflies we found recently*
The other day, we were driving around without any specific place to find critters.
All of a sudden; after about 15 minutes drive, this fallow field in front of the temple appeared for us. My dragonfly lover husband knew these places are the ones we can find them and he was RIGHT. We found some of them flying around ;-)
Although we found some Damselflies (we call 'thread dragonfly') as well, they are too tiny to catch with camera for us.
This male dragonfly is called *Lyriothemis* |
We also found this colorful (reddish) one♪
Male *Scarlet Skimmer*
Thank you so much for stopping by.
I always appreciate your sweet comments.
Hoping everyone has no trouble from recent problem;

Hi Miyako san! Your husband knows really well where to find dragonflies :-) You found beautiful dragonflies - blue and red. Scarlet Skimmer is really stunning with its bright color!
ReplyDeleteLots of bad news out there but I sure hope everything is well with you. Please stay safe and healthy. Have a wonderful new week and happy June, Miyako san!
We have the Scarlet Skimmer (or something similar) in Coastal British Columbia, especially around the lakes. - Margy
ReplyDeleteSo many amazing photos
ReplyDeleteBoth dragonflies are very pretty, Miyako. It tells us, pretty does not have to be big - it may be very small! Many thanks for sharing these pretty tiny dragonflies with All Seasons. Have a wonderful week. (Are you still on lockdown in Japan?) Hope for the best, Jesh
ReplyDeleteMiyako - your husband is so talented to know where to find these dragonflies - I especially liked the Scarlet Skimmer! It adds so much color to Mosaic Monday! (By the way, I am deeply grateful for your faithful participation in MM - it means so much to me!)
