Autumn Atmosphere, "Chestnuts & Rice Paddy”

Chestnuts from next Neighbor
Our first chestnuts this year from next neighbor which we are annually looking forward to.  These are from forest "or grove" in Atu-town Mine-city Yamaguchi-pref.; Known as "Atu-Chestnut".  Thoroughly enjoyed autumn flavor both just boiled ones and cooked rice with them.

Autumn fruits we were gifted from friends "Pears and Figs"

Rice Paddy from late last month through recently.
These rice paddies (from 2 places) are very close to our house where we always stop by to take pictures of herons and dragonflies. We can't feel "Thankful" enough for their hard work. Without this blog, I wouldn't have felt these appreciation for nature and people's and farmer's work.

"Wandering Gliders were flying over the paddy.

Bit surprised seeing these harvested ones hanged over the guardrail :-)
Maybe just temporary and the paddy here is not so wide.

Gifted pictures of flower and frog from usual sweet lady keyboard player. I never knew lemon 's flower has white color p;-)
Thank you very much for stopping by,   always  appreciate your sweet visits;
So sorry that I couldn't   visit   you "return for your sweetness"   !!!
Starting  from this afternoon;   Oh, my usual excuse but I wish  I will be able to.

  1. Oooh, I would love to have some roasted chestnuts. It makes me think warmly of fall and the coming winter. Yes, we should all appreciate our farmers and the wonderful food they produce for us. And I liked the creative use of the guardrail to dry the rice!!! Enjoy your week ahead.

  2. The white herons on the rice paddy are a beautiful sight. I have used chestnuts in DIY works: hot glued wreaths out of them and they stay good for years. Happy MM Miyako.

  4. As always I enjoy seeing scenes from other walks of life on Mosaic Monday, how else would I know what harvesting rice looks like or how to serve chestnuts with rice? Your gifts of home grown fruit and chestnuts from your friends must have been a joy to receive.

  5. Oh those autumn goodies look so yummy! Now I am craving for chestnut rice :-) Beautiful sceneries from rice paddies. I always enjoy seeing herons strolling around. Funny they used guardrail to hang their harvest. I agree it may be for temporary use but what a practical idea :-)
Have a wonderful new week, Miyako san xo

  14. Dearest Miyako,
What a lovely time of the year when the rice paddies get harvested!
Funny sight with those harvested rice bundles hung over the guardrail...
Yes, lemons have highly fragrant white flowers - pure heaven!
Cute frog is peeking around the leaf.
And you made me start mouthwatering when you showed your rice with the cooked chestnuts.
    Sending you sunny autumn hugs,
