Spring Peony festival at the City Park and Birds;

Beautiful varieties of Peonies
On April 21st, my friend and I went to see rare peonies exhibited at the city park. Enjoyed the varieties of colors with matching names with them. Japan used be called 'Jipangu'; yellow colored one may be quite rare.  link from Jan. post.
I  feel Thankful for the staff 's hard work♪

Pelicans in the lake of the Park
I was happy to see the baby got a little older than when we visited there this Jan. I'll skip the explanation about "Cutta-kun" of the brown statute pelican from Calcutta.  Link  from my blog.

Pale Thrush and Dusky Thrush
First two collages of the Thrushes were from early March before the tree in front of my house got Green with Leaves. And the other day when we were going home from shopping, we found Dusky Thrushes were chasing the farmer getting ready for rice planting looking for food.

Recently, we were given many bamboo-shoots from our neighbors and friend. I was really shocked that I got red eczema on my face. I had to give up one of my favorite seasonal food (^^;) Take Care of yourselves and hope you will have a happy May♪

  3. Dear Miyako, the peonies are stunning I love the winter one especially. I hope that the rash has gone now. Are you allergic to bamboo, perhaps?
    Wishing you a happy Mosaic Monday and a good week ahead.

    Pelicans are so cute. I love their adorable faces! They seem to be enjoying some sunshine. Pale thrushes and dusky thrushes are so cute, too!
    So sorry to hear you got eczema from bamboo-shoots! I got eczema after eating ice cream but it was after I took a long flight. So maybe my body was too tired. I hope you don't have to give up bamboo-shoots forever.
    Have a wonderful new week, Miyako san! xo

  9. Oh the peonies are just beautiful Miyako! I didn't know they came in so many colors! Just beautiful. It was nice to visit the pelican family again and I always love the thrush.

    I wonder if the bamboo shoots had been sprayed with fertilizer or insect killer and that was what you were allergic to? (If you've eaten them before without a problem, I would suspect the ones you got had been treated in some way.)

  11. Hello Miyako,
    The peonies are beautiful in their frilly skirts. Ours are still very tight buds and I'm eager for them to open in time, for they are one of my favourite flowers. I'm glad the baby pelican is growing well. Have a good week.

  21. I miss the peonies we had at our house in Cleveland ... do they put up the umbrellas to protect the peonies from rain? Ours usually did not last long because they would be beaten down by a rain storm. My favorite of your pictures are the yellow ones!!!

    Thank you for your recent visit to my blog - you can tell your husband that the logs of our house are pine trees from Canada, only a short distance north of us.
