Our 45 years old Screen Doors needed replacing screens. My husband wished to replace the screen made of "polypropylen" which has better view of outside from inside than the cheaper one. We can buy it at the DIY-shop. He learned that professional ask us price 5 times more for the job compared to the cheaper screen.
Old ones had screens made of "vinyl chloride" sure had durability; the staff at the shop said that the one we bought has the quality only last 5 years or more. But you can see the differences of the view with new one. So sorry not from the same window.

Taking off the screen and he cleaned the frame. New packing (or rubber to set the screen) and the little roller like tool. |
I found the butterflies flying around the flower. It was hard to take video p:-) The white orchid was from the Exhibition at the city park which I haven't posted. I'll try posting other beauties later.
The first Grey heron was staning in front of the wall of a factory thinking where to fly off :-) The ones in the second frame was from the usual nearby river.
Wishing you will have a wonderful coming new week.
I really appreciate your sweet visits despite my absence!!!
Hope to see you soon;

Lovely post with so many fine photos. My favorite is the gray heron.
ReplyDeleteChanging screens, we'll leave to our husbands, eh? The butterflies are beautiful - they are so quick, I can imagine it would be hard to take a video of them! Like how you dress up your photo! Thanking you from All Seasons and wishing you a great week!
ReplyDeleteI am impressed! We would have just called a company to do it! Looks great! Have a great week!

ReplyDeleteFiguring out how to do things oneself saves lots of money, doesn't it? Beautiful butterflies and heron photos. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteMiyako - the pictures of the butterflies on the flowers are charming. I also need to learn your techniques for displaying your collages within your posts - so stylish!
ReplyDeleteThe view with new screen looks great! That reminds me that we need to clean our screens...and windows..and walls..it's endless, isn't it? :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch cute butterflies. The white orchid is gorgeous! I look forward to seeing more from the exhibition. And it's always lovely to see herons :-)
Happy July, Miyako san! Can you believe it's already July? Have a wonderful new week! xo
Great summery photos! They are nice to see on my frosty winter day!
ReplyDeleteDearest Miyako,
ReplyDeleteYou deserve a compliment for your always artistic presentation of photos!
That is a true gift!!!
Your new screen is much more appealing for a 'clear' view without the course woven screen obstructing it.
You are lucky with a handy man who can do this himself; saves a lot of money.
Isn't it sad that they are selling things that only last 5 years? They should be considering more the pollution it causes for the environment for having to trash it every 5 years. But it is all about money... Durability and quality nowadays is not within our reach!
Love your butterfly photos and also the beautiful white orchids.
Those Great Blue Heron photos are all lovely.
Thanks for the timely 4th of July wishes. We did have a lovely day spent at the home of our best friends. They are our extended family. LOTS of food and happy time together.
Hugs,
Mariette

ReplyDeleteHello Miyako, A very nice post here! Great photos! I love the Grey heron shot! Thanks for sharing and have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteI did the same job a few weeks ago with a screen door because it had been damaged in the winter by large blocks of ice and snow, so the screen was split open. The roller tool is very useful. I am glad I fixed it because now there are many mosquitoes and we need the screens to keep them out of the house!
ReplyDeleteI love the shot of the butterflies on the daisies. The heron is lovely. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHello Miyako! There is a big difference in screens in your photos. Much better view now...Love the wildlife you find.....Michelle
