Peonies from the city park;

My friends must have realized that this post is another series from our city park :-)
There is a peony's section in the park and we can enjoy many kinds in full bloom now. I learned from the pc-site that they are originated from China. I wonder if you can enjoy this flower in your country. Like cherry blossoms, their blooming period is short (or transient), which I feel makes this flower more precious.

This old type Japanese thatched house is for exhibiting purpose.

       I'm linking this post to
Mosaic MondayOur World Tuesday  and  Nature Notes.

I hope I could send you a bit of Japanese atmosphere.
Thank you very much for stopping by;

  6. Hello Miyako,
    The peonies are lovely, I think they are very luxurious when seen in a big bunch. Friends of ours grow them on a large section at the back of their home - they used to export them but I'm not sure whether they still grow them commercially now.
    Many thanks for sharing these photo's.

  12. Oh yes, Miyako, I enjoy them and adore them, too. My favorite flower. Only reason I do not plant them in my yard is that they are so sweet they attract ants! We have a problem wit them as it is here. xo

  13. So many beautiful peonies in your park, doubles and singles. I have quite a few peonies in my gardens for they're a cottage favourite as seen by old farmhouses with a big clump outside the front door. I love it when mine are blooming and I cut some to bring indoors for a fragrant bouquet.

  14. Dearest Miyako,
    What a lovely and very healthy peonies you show us here. We do have several peonies but it is a struggle because of the summer heat.
    Love the thatched roofing but it is fully overgrown with mosses...
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  16. Konnichiwa, Miyako-san!

    I hope you are enjoying the spring season. Many beautiful flowers are in bloom like the pretty peonies on the photos! The house in the park is very interesting because of the plants planted on its roof!

    I hope you and your family are doing fine. Take care :)

  17. We had peonies in our garden in Oregon (before we retired and sold the house). You are absolutely right -- the flowers that bloom fleetingly are all the more precious! These are beautiful -- that is a lovely Park!

  23. Oh my. How varied and beautiful they all are. I have a place in my heart for the peony as we had one next to our porch in my childhood home. My Mother would sit and work on her bonsai there. She grew bonsai for many years. It is a heart break for me that she had a house fire shortly before she became ill and died so I did not get any of her bonsai.
