As no one lives in my parent's house, my father's cremains is resting at the temple now. After the funeral, we have several 7th day service (only having Sutra from a family temple within family) until 49th day. One's cremains are put in the grave after the service of 49th day Funeral Ceremony. The day has special meaning in Buddhism.
