"Old Camellia" in my city and ours

Last night, we heard the news that the old Camellia "Sasanqua" was designated as a Natural Treasure of our prefecture.  About 450 old (12-meter tall) tree stands back of the kindergarten owned by the temple. As we also have "Sasanqua tree", we went to see it. Well, it might be a bit early for the blooming. Would you please let me post them with a little different Christmas design as I know the pictures don't have much of the seasonal atmosphere or topic p;)

I always do not feel well of the abundant house behind of our garden (^^;)

I DO wish your Christmas preparation is going well ♬♬♬

  1. What lovely flowers and trees, my dear friend Miyako! I love to enjoy such amazing beauty, and to think that you have it so close to you is a true blessing, indeed.

The pink in the flowers is a gorgeous shade, and it must give you great pleasure each time you see it. I hope your December is going well, my friend!

  6. Dearest Miyako san,
Unbelievable a 450 year old Camellia tree! What a thick stem indeed it shows and how healthy. Your Japanese climate must be perfect for growing them. We only have the Sasanqua Chansonette and it is not blooming as pretty as what you show us here.
Do you mean the house of your neighbor is abandoned? Nobody is living there?
Don't worry too much about it. We know you want to show only perfect things but this is life.
    Hugs to you,
    Mariette

  8. Love the flowers. They are a beautiful sight for this time of year since we have no more flowers here for many months now. Our snow started flying yesterday and today there was much havoc with the transit and the roads. It is supposed to keep snowing for a few days and I hope will settle down for the weekend. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

  12. Dear Miyako,
The trees in these photos are beautiful, each in it's own way. The 450 year old tree is very impressive and looks so healthy for being so old. The flowering tree in your garden is very beautiful with its lovely shade of pink blossoms. I have a climbing rose bush in my garden with blossoms nearly the same color but not nearly as large or beautiful as the ones on your tree.
Much love and best wishes for my dear bs
