Sourinji-Temple (宗隣寺)

Oh, I think I am posting series of  temples close to my house. Haha, I hope you are not tired of these pictures. My friend took me a quick  photo taking on Monday.
This temple is about 340 years old and have one of the oldest beautiful garden in our prefecture called "ryushin-tei 龍心庭(dragon heart garden)”

When we walk up, a group of people were doing "zazen practice".  We had to lower our voice. (haha, my voice is really loud due to my bad ears)

These pictures are from PC-site and the angle are different from my bad pictures up there. My pictuers are from the corridor. The pond is made shape like "heart 心” in Chinese character.  (so sorry, my collage of this one didn't get shrink)

We were surprised to be welcomed by some cherry bloosom blooming out of the season along the approach.  We call it "狂い咲き、crazy blooming". Maybe due to the temperature, they must have thought spring has come.

I hope you all are going to have a wonderful weekend.

Indeed those temples are always worthwhile to visit. Such old culture with meticulous gardens. The cherry blossoms are so unreal and will be in for a surprise when the cold spell sets in.

  15. Dear Miyako,
I'm so sorry I haven't replied before this. I had to go searching and finally found the calendar in the deleted items. My good husband had deleted it because he didn't recognise your name. I'm sorry to have been so lax.
So thank you very much, it is lovely. It will be unique to the three of us who were lucky enough to win the draw.

    blessings,
    Diana
