Rice Paddy, White spider lily and Sparrows;

*Harvesting Rice*
When we were driving back from shopping, a family of the farmer was in the middle of Harvesting Rice. Although I worried if I  would bother them, the two ladies were so kind to agree with my request to take pictures of their work. It sure was a moment to appreciate the harvest and also for Combine which was moving swiftly, even the sound of the machine gave me smile ;-)

I found just a couple of  white Cluster Amaryllis which were not in full bloom then.
Happy that I could take the combine with them
This one below was found at the different place and also not in full bloom p;-)

*Sparrows on the Roof of a shed*
Oh My!!!  On a different day, many sparrows were on a roof of the shed among the rice paddy and flying around. The paddy doesn't seem to be not well taking care of now.  But I was happy being able to introduce these landscape of this season with Sparrows.
          This picture was taken form about at the edge of the 3 paddies away)

Thank you very much for stopping by ;
I always appreciate your sweet comments;

  1. Dearest Miyako,
    That was very healthy rice for being harvested and efficient combine.
    Love the white spider lilies; have not encountered any here so far. We only have the orange ones.
    Yeah, the sparrows know how to pick up some rice grains.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  2. I don't think I've ever seen rice as it grows, so thanks for those photos! The flower is gorgeous with it's spidery appearance. I have found that birds certainly know where the can get a free meal! Nice photos, all.

    Thank you for joining us on 'My Corner of the World' this week!

  4. Miyako - I like your new header - perfect for Autumn. I am curious about the rice hanging on the metal fence - in the US we would call it a guardrail and it is to keep cars on the road. So is that metal fence for the road or for the rice? Do they leave the rice there to dry? Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday, and have a terrific week.

  9. That's fascinating to see your rice harvesting machine - so much of it is done by hand here in Thailand. I will be in Japan next week, so keep that sun shining for me!

  12. Hello Miyako,
    I was interested to see the rice combine at work. Rice is such an important crop in many parts of the world. The amaryllis blossoms are beautifully intricate, and what fun to see all the sparrows clustered together on the roof. Have a good week.

  16. If you do it your self, you may just patch the bad spot not paying attention to details and hurrying up your project so you can be done by Sunday evening. roofers near me

  18. Nut bearing trees are also good landscape candidates where a large and stately tree is needed. Black walnut may come to mind but this would be the only exception in the landscape as they produce a very potent toxin that kills many species of plants within their root zone and beyond.
