Lotus Flower" at Genkyuji- Temple (源久寺) etc;

Ooga-Hasu"  from in the middle of last month
Lotus Flower;  said to bloom in the land of  perfect bliss;
Lotus flower is believed to be the symbol of purity and also said to bloom in the lad of perfect bliss. This Ooga-hasu in the Genkyuji-Temple,  Dr. Ooga Iichiro of the botanist succeeded to bloom the seed which was found in the strata of 2300 years ago.
Picture in the middle;   After all the flowers fallen off :-)
Buddha Sitting on Lotus
The lotus has been a symbol of purity since before the time of the Buddha, and it blooms profusely in Buddhist art and literature. Its roots are in muddy water, but the lotus flower rises above the mud to bloom, clean and fragrant.
In Buddhist art, it is believed a fully blooming lotus flower signifies enlightenment, while a closed bud represents a time before enlightenment.

Sandpiper and Redstart from early spring
I love these little sweet birdies I can find during cool season in and along the river♪
It has been a time consuming, tough work for me to tackle with my divider issue.  The HTML in the theme finally eliminated and found a way to use CSS with one of the helpful pc site (in English), took 2 days...  Let me start visiting you from tomorrow.  Have a wonderful coming New Week.

Wow the lotus flowers are beautiful! They almost look surreal. Perfect bliss indeed! I remember seeing lotus flowers at temple in my hometown in Japan. I remember large leaves and frogs on them :-)
The birds are so cute! I enjoyed the video. Glad you finally solved divider issue. It must have been really exhausting. Hopefully no more troubles in the future! Have a lovely new week, Miyako san!

Love the lotus flower - the only place I have seen them (of the places I visited in California) is in front of the Botanical building in San Diego, as well as the waterlilies (the latter ones are more commonly seen). it makes these flowers for a dreamy post, and thank you so much for choosing these beautiful ones for All Seasons. Have a beautiful week!

Those pale pink lotus flowers in a near shot are stunning. I have never seen a lotus flower, we cannot get those here. But its brown seed heads are very familiar. When I used to make arrangements with dried flowers, they were one ingredient I loved to use.

Wishing you a beautiful day Miyako

Miyako, I have long admired the Lotus flower. I did not know it was developed 2300 years ago by Dr. Ichiro. I learned something new today thanks for the information. I am working on being enlightened. I fail. Get up and try again. I guess I am a bud still trying to become enlightened. Have a good week. See you next week.

Miyako, your blog-posts always always make me smile -- each one is a work of art. But this is one of my favorites ever! Thank you for teaching me the history of the lotus flower -- and for illustrating it so beautifully with your photos.

And both of your birds are wonderful!
