Azalea under the rain and Egret with reflection;

*Azalea as the road side tree*
This is the scene in front of the book store when I went there to buy the books for my students a few days ago.  Although it was raining, I rushed out of the car to take pictures with umbrella :-)
Some people looked at me curiously seeing tiny senior lady taking pictures under the rainy weather.  I thought Azalea flowers are fencing as the road side tree.

*Egret with reflection*
This Egret was fairly close to me in the river from where I was on the different day.
Surprised how skinny the egret in the right picture looked.
Believe me, haven't done anything to make it thinner
for the picture :-)

In Japan, we are having so-called "Golden Week" link, which is the longest holiday season in the year.  Really long consecutive off days.  It's also the family gathering opportunities♪ Wish my immediate family (parents  bro) were alive with me :-)
Hope you all will have a wonderful coming weekend☆☆☆

I am going to follow the link to read more about this celebration that you are having. Thank you for teaching us so much!!

  11. Very nice. That bottom photo is my favorite because the egrets leg and reflection make such an interesting angle.

  12. Dearest Miyako,
Sorry for not having your family complete anymore... Such days are very hard; I know!
That was one of the things that became so obvious while I was scanning those 36 photo albums (yes, they're done, only a few remnants left) all those loved ones that only look at us from a photo - no longer with us in person.
Life is not easy but there are so many things we have to be grateful for and the memories we still hold dear to us.
My youngest sister gifted me with lots of photos she scanned from our childhood and rom aunts and uncles and grandparents. Those become such treasures. She had to video Skype me several times and ask who was in the picture and what it was about and such. She is the youngest and knows only very little. But I managed, even in-between my own scanning which of course took more time because of it but I appreciated her effort. She got encouraged by me I guess and she herself is very pleased with it now!
Your azalea photos look like a dream. That is Japan at its very, very best and I would love to visit certain places during that time.
Here we also enjoy azaleas and if I had not scanned photos we for sure would have gone to Savannah where there are many old squares and lots of azaleas. I scanned photos form 1996 when I took Mom & Dad there with us.
That elegant egret might have been thinking the very same about the photographer!
    Sending you hugs and love,
    Mariette
