Trip to Tuwano (town) area part1;

                                                                                                                                      header of this post

*My first Luck of taking pictures of SL*
After finishing memorial service of my husband's aunt and serving Soba with matukake-mushroom (one of Japanese delicacy for its distinct spicy-aromatic odor),  Us 8 members headed for Tsuwano area in my prefecture.
When we stopped by roadside station (道の駅;michino-eki) to take a rest, there was an announcement from the staff that SL will pass the railroad above the stationin in 5 minutes. I got so excited with my first chance of steam locomotive pictures :-)
First picture below were zoomed one of the Chomonkyo-station behind the railroad we went up.   It might be better if the railroad were the curvy one so that I could take the train's body as well p;-)

*Scenes from the town*

These sculptures are from the Egret-dance to dedicate for God.

For fence, critters and skywatch meme from this trip;

Spotted the hive of Japanese yellow hornet on the roof of the market.

We passed 角島大橋 (Tuno-shima Bridge), posted here last year.

I HOPE you all are having comfortable season. I'm trying to catch up with my friends...

Hello Miyako!:) Yes indeed, your steam locomotive photos are great, and it's very pretty scenery on either side of the tracks, and surrounding the town.The sculptures are very decorative,the fence also, but the hornets nest gives me the shivers.:(
Warm Regards.

How great you got to see the SL train! I don't think I've ever seen one in person. Your photos are beautiful and dynamic. Didn't know the train would have so much smoke coming out from top and also bottom!
The town looks very peaceful. I love the cloud around the mountain. The dancing egrets are very cute. And the hive of yellow hornet...scary, but looks pretty :-)
Have a wonderful week, Miyako san!

The steam train is wonderful...love how you caught the steam, makes it look like it is moving right off the screen! A pretty town .. The red leaves look just like here. I like Autumn! And the Egret dancing sculptures are lovely .... They are such a beautiful bird, I can easily imagine the special meaning the statues represent.
