White Eye on Persimmon tree;

(so sorry that the header's been changed for the newer post)

* Japanese White eyes 'Mejiro' eating persimmon 'kaki' *
Luckily, I spotted Japanese White Eyes enjoying lunch on my neighbor's persimmon tree early this month. Oh, I was so fascinated to see how vigorously and acrobatically eat their food for the first time :-)

This is my previous post about Mejiro this Feb. with an idiom we have from the habit they have.

Hi Miyako san! Wow, I love all the photos of the pretty Mejiro and yummy-looking kaki! Looks like they are enjoying fresh fruit very much! They sure are very acrobatic, too! We didn't see birds at our bird feeder for a while in November, but they are back now as it's warmer :-)
Happy Kanreki next year. My boss will celebrate Kanreki next year as well. Wishing you a happy holiday season and new year xoxo

What a beautiful bird! It is easy to see how he got his name! I have a lot of trouble getting pictures of small song birds, but I keep trying. Yours are so good!

You got such pretty photos of the tiny bird, the persimmon is bigger than the bird! That must feed him for a while. So cute eating the huge fruit! Hugs from the PNW.
