Film Camera;

For Rubbish Tuesday, I'd like to post some old film cameras owned by my late father and my husband. They were too complicated for me to use :-)
And hope this post fits the idea of this meme.

MAMIYA with Olympus lens and accordion type
(sorry if it's the wrong word)
       Minolta; newer one for him
I know you've seen these pictures but my favorites :-)

*my husband's old PENTAX camera*

Some of my friends may reminisce using these types of camera.
For me, too costly to use film camera. I really AM thankful for digital one we can erase unneeded pictures freely later. As camera is an inevitable item for me now

  2. Miyako, thanks for these old reminders of the cameras. We used to have to stop every so often for my hubby to change his 35MM film, as he took so many pictures. Now not such a problem...he can take as many as he wants. Hugs from Texas.

  6. My dad and then Bill used to be the photographers in the family -- like you I was afraid of wasting film. And like you I am so grateful for my digital.

(And now I take all the pictures -- all the time, all the places ;>)!

It was fun to see these old cameras.. they were too complicated for me too.

You possess some fine museum type pieces, especially your Dad's old ones!
LOVE the cute photos of you... very touching and considering the way he took them back than, we only can admire a good photo even more so.

  17. Wonderful older cameras! I tried using a film camera (Nikon FM-2) last year when my husband was gone many months, and had our small digital with him. I was so frustrated by the horrible results I got, plus the cost of the film for almost NO decent photos, plus I loaded it wrong TWICE! I was so happy when he brought the little one back with him, but that wasn't good enough--had to go buy a new digital that would be better than the little one. I was so tired of all the issues! :-)I am still not 100% happy. Our new camera doesn't seem to take really close macro shots. Most of my attempts are blurry. But, it does GREAT telephoto shots!

  18. I remember when Pentax was THE camera to own back in the 80s. My husband and I each still have one. I never understood how to work mine. Every once in a while I could get a good photo by accident. :) Love your trip down memory lane with the old cameras. I, too, am happy for digital images that can be erased immediately. :)

  20. Dear Miyako,

I loved seeing all the wonderful cameras and yes, aren't we lucky now to be able to take photos without film and to be able to delete them if they have not turned out well.
Also enjoyed seeing the sweet family photos.
    Happy October dear friend
    Sending love and hugs
