Old Threshing Machine and Egrets;

I'm linking this post to Rubish Tuesday and "Wild Bird Wednesday

*Old Threshing Machine*
When we visited "Sea of Flowers" to see sunflowers, we found this old threshing machine at outside of the exit of the store. It caught my husband's eyes. I personally have never seen this machine but he remembers using the handle to put air when young. Sort of happy that I found an old thing to show, which has Japanese atmosphere.

He seemed so reminiscent looking into the machine for a while.

*Two Different Egrets*
This healthy looking one I found in the uncultivated rice paddy is a bit chunky and has really flexible body grooming. And it was a fine day.

I found this one in the river we usually pass on my way home from shopping. This poor birdie looked so skinny and the bad weather making him looked more unhealthy.

Thank you very much for stopping by;

ps> My bad sleeping habit keeping me from fall a sleep now. I promise I can concentrate visiting you all in the morning. I was SO tied up for several things lately.  See you in the morning, friends.

  2. That old machine brought back some memories! We used to use it to shell corn off a cob to feed the chickens. (They were my responsibility). Hugs from Texas

  15. My husband would find that old threshing machine fascinating, my dear friend. We have many egrets here, especially with the cattle. Sometimes they even sit on the cows' backs!

  19. Your husband looks just like Bill does whenever we see an antique that reminds him of his childhood . I love that look of concentration! And it is a beautiful old machine!

    The egrets are lovely; the top one is most beautiful, but I don't think the bottom one is sick -- I think it's just the way he is standing. At least I hope so because I have seen a lot of them who look just like that.

    Insomnia is no fun. I have that sometimes too. I know how it feels!

  20. Dearest Miyako,
    The threshing machine looks very much like the Dutch types I remember from childhood. Wonder where the one in your picture has been built. Was it Japanese what was on that plaque? I could not read it...
    Lovely Egret photos and the last photos are also deceiving because it has its neck straight up; looking more slender that way.
    Hugs to you,
    Mariette

  23. Miyako, it's so sad that the swans in your park died of bird flu.I sympathize with you about this tragedy. It's always sad when things like this happen.

  25. Maybe they are not exactly the same birds? one does look quite different from the other ... hmmm... but maybe if the other guy stretched out his neck he would look skinny too.... hahahhah.....
