Illuminations♪

On our way back from my cousin's orange farm (link to the post), we stopped by to see my husband's brother and shared his family some oranges. We passed the famous wooden bridge (picture of my header). After that we had dinner at the restaurant where offer us grilled chicken. As you can see, it got beautiful illuminations for Christmas. I've never seen castle shaped restaurant. Although illumination with the mixture of western and Japanese culture made me feel a bit funny, I enjoyed them very much.

Not a Castle but a Restaurant  :-)
Very funny that Santa with carp streamers for children's day (in May) in Japan p;)
Entrance to the eating place & what we had.

Linking this post to "Our world Tuesday" later next week.

PS> I decided to keep the previous post as I had some of sweet comments and G.
I won't be posting until my father's memorial service is over. But I'll try visiting you.

  4. Culture fusion can be confusing! But it is right in the spirit of Christmas for us -- lights are all over.

  8. Dearest Miyako,
That was a very special trip to your cousin's orange orchard and on the way back visiting your husband's brother. So nice that you got to share some oranges with them too!
The restaurant looks very special with such fairy tale illumination. and that wooden bridge is very unique. As I see it is a pedestrian bridge it looks like. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Glad you got to enjoy something different than ongoing sad emotions. We all need that from time to time; something we really enjoy and good food.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  9. Wow the illumination is beautiful! It looks very unique restaurant shaped like a castle. The koinobori and snowman and Santa together is bit strange but kind of fun :-) The dish looks good too!

I loved to see all the decorations and illuminations, but I see what you mean about mixing the two cultures! Looks like a lovely place to have a meal. I hope that your father's Memorial Service goes well, and not TOO sad for you. Sending you love and hugs x
