Illustration of Epiphyllum oxypetalum "gekabijin, 月下美人”

Having been experiencing the hottest summer ever, I thought about this marvelous, amazing flower; which I've never seen. I happened to come across elegant illustrations of them from Japanese illustration site.
Floral Language of this flower "Transient Love"

* If any of my friend wants to use this site's elegant varieties of flower illustrations;
 Here is the link   (click the Chinese character of the season on the left side or upper "graphic" of the page )

Also, coincidentally my dear friend Mariette (link) "Mariette's back to basics" posted gorgeous pictures of HER "Orchid Cactus". I'm sure you'll find her Epiphyllum oxypetalum with rain drops so beautiful.

Hallo there dear Miyako. That is, indeed, a truly beautiful and unusual flower. We are also having a wonderful summer here in my part of England. :)

How elegant and beautiful this is Miyako. I read about the heat wave you are experiencing. When the weather is that hot, it is hard to find much energy!

Mariette grows some gorgeous flowers. Hope things are cooling down a bit there, Miyako. We had a couple of heat waves this summer, not too bad. xo

Dearest Miyako,
Thanks for the shout out! That is a nice coincidence that we both mention the Epiphyllum oxypetalum! It is such a regal flower... the Queen of the Night.
I am late as I slept for the first time during the night, since Sunday. We were still up 3 x during last night to fight the water but it is less. The sun is out and we pray it will stay for longer time so the area can dry out. So many people are fighting these Flash Floods where the ground water enters the home... Too saturated everywhere so the water just runs off and living in a hilly area,that's what happens. From higher areas it all comes towards us.
Hugs to you,
Mariette

White flowers are good for this hot season. But they are very beautiful. I didn't know it is a kind of cactus.
