First Classical Concert♬

Today, I have some things you will be surprised or laugh at me to read;
Yesterday, I enjoyed my first classical concert. We were given the tickets from my husband's ex-colleague who had to cancel to go.   Wow, what a LUCK we had♬♬♬

You will be surprised to hear that I've never had a chance to hear a classical concert, haha. It was Japan Filharmonic Orchestra. They played the music from Mozart. There goes another surprise, "conductor, concertmaster, solo-pianist were all women".  Oh, isn't that great♬♬♬  When my husband started playing saxophone, I told him that we don't see the instrument in the orchestra and must not be a popular instrument to choose.  I didn't even know it is mainly for Jazz and brass band. It was developed in 1846 by Adolphe Sax. Fairly new for the classical symphony, p;)
I found that the classical music makes us so comfortable to our ears and made me doze off  a bit. Probably because of my physical condition wasn't the best one. Anyway, I really appreciate my first chance♪♪♪

Thank you very much for stopping by.  As I told you I'm a bit below par and if I didn't catch up to your posts, I am so sorry friends.

i love classical music and i'm glad you had such a lovely time!! the music is so moving..yet at times it can relax you very much..depends on the piece! all women..awesome!!! i can not play any instrument, can not read music and, quite honesty, couldn't carry a tune if you put it in a paper sack for me!!! ahahaha!!! i am always so impressed with those who play and read music. i would love to be able to sing without someone covering their ears!! when i sang to my kids when they were little, they'd say "mommy no sing!".....!!
    Pres. Clinton played the sax!
    sending you feel better hugs!!!

  2. Dearest Miyako,

That surprised me really that you never went to a real symphony orchestra! We went to the performance of a small symphony orchestra from Atlanta just a couple of weeks ago. As a matter of fact, with my business I am a Contributor (for that we get 4 tickets) and Mariette's Back to Basics LLC is being printed on the back of the program for that. My husband has been very active in the board of our Dublin Laurens Arts Council for arranging performers at our local Theatre. There are a lot of female musicians, nothing special about that. It is just the passion you must have for this job and the perseverance. Nowadays it is harder and harder for making a living that way so some of them have a main job as well, having studied two different fields.
But I'm glad you went and it is a great feeling for dozing off with that kind of heavenly music; very easy. Hope you will feel better soon dear friend!
Hugs to you from across the ocean to you,

    Mariette

  5. Feel better, Miyako. I find classical music a little to......'soothing' for me. I most likely would have fallen asleep during it! A nice treat though for you and hubby to attend for free. xo

  8. Dear Miyako,
I hope you're feeling better! Classical music can be both soothing and keep your mind active - sounds funny doesn't it? I've been to see a ballet but not a full classical concert. It would be great to see an all female orchestra too! xxx

  9. It must be a delight to have free tickets and to finally experience what a classical concert is :) When I was younger, I played the piano and played the pieces of Mozart, Sonata, Sonatina, Back, etc and with the full orchestra playing this time, it must have sounded amazing!

Have a great week ahead :)

I'm happy for you that you had the chance to attend the concert and hear the music first hand. It is so different than listening to recorded music. 12. Hi Miyako,
It's nice to hear you had a chance to hear classical music. My husband likes it so he turns on the program of classical music at breakfast. Incidentally I like playing piano and I am a member of a chorus.
    Have a lovely week ahead!

  13. Oh how lucky you are to get tickets!
I think it's surprising, too, that conductor, concertmaster and solo-pianist are all women. But it's a nice surprise :-)
I love classical music. I don't go to concert or actively listen to it, but love to have it as background music. As you said it's very comfortable to our ears.
Have a wonderful new week, Miyako san!

  19. Dear Miyako,

So glad that you were given tickets to your first classical concert, how lucky for you.
I love classical music, and lately sometimes it is nicer to listen to the Classical channel on the radio instead of the news which is often not pleasant.

    Happy rest of the week
    Hugs
    Carolyn

  23. Hello Miyako, how nice to receive free concert tickets. I have been to a similar concert years ago, it was great. I do like more modern music than the classic. Glad you had a nice time, have a wonderful day!
