Green Day (Rurikoji-Temple)

Rurikoji-Temple;  Yamaguchi-pref. in Japan

The Picture up there in the free scrapbook is from Wikipedia.
This spring, we visited this temple in our prefecture with some of our relatives.
And these two pics down there were taken by mobile-phone by me and hubby.
Haha, as you can see he tried to put the whole temple.

This Rurikoji-Temple (瑠璃光寺) five-story pagodas, designated as a national treasurewas built around 14th century (Muromachi-era in Japan) by Ouchi-family. It is located in Yamaguchi-city where sometime referred as western Kyoto in Japan; and also is one of the important five-story pagodas along with Horyuji's in Nara and Daigoji's in Kyoto, and is the symbol of Yamaguchi city.  Here is the link you can see more detail and lots of beautiful pictures there.

  4. Dearest Miyako san,

    Lovely post with great photos!
Amazing that this 5 story pagoda still is standing beautifully since the 14th century. They mention cypress skin, so it must be great quality and very well preserved!
    Hugs to you,
    Mariette

  25. I think this is the temple I included in my blog as one of the places I really wanted to visit! It's a beautiful place, I love the trees surrounding it. There seems to be a lot of trees in Japan, there are where I live too, so I think this must be why I love it.
